Jon Favreau Compares 'The Mandalorian' To 'Game of Thrones'
The Mandalorian season 2 has been reported to include some characters who are already familiar to Star Wars fans. Given that Lucasfilm has not confirmed the rumors, take this with a grain of salt. Arguably, the biggest are the possible additions of Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano, the two characters that had been two of the popular characters from old and new Star Wars stories for years. Especially Boba Fett, who made his first appearance in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. As these are just rumors for now, we will have to wait and see in The Mandalorian season 2, which premieres October 30.

The Mandalorian season 2 is just around the corner, debuting October 30 on Disney+. We have seen lots of fan speculation on what is to come in this next installment of the series, from theories about Rosario Dawson's role as Ahsoka Tano to hypotheses about The Child's purpose and backstory. However, one of the elements that I am most looking forward to is finding out more about the mysterious villain Moff Gideon.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the most beloved characters in all of Star Wars. He has been portrayed consistently well by different actors across various media over the decades. One of these actors is Ewan McGregor, who depicted the character in the prequel trilogy. For years, fans were begging for an Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone film, with McGregor back in the role. Eventually, we got the announcement that McGregor would indeed be returning for a Disney+ series centered on Kenobi, taking place eight years after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, which would indicate that this is during his exile on Tatooine.

The Mandalorian season 2 is not too far away, and the new images that have come out from Entertainment Weekly are really feeding into the hype for the upcoming episodes. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal talked about where the characters are at the beginning of season 2. He did not spoil anything, but what he said does sound very intriguing for his character Din Djarin:

Even if you do not know much about Star Wars, you know that the lightsaber is a major part of it. The different colors and types of sabers have fascinated people since the beginning. Naturally, fans are excited to see all the different lightsabers in the Star Wars universe. Fans who love lightsabers will not be disappointed with the reveals of what lightsabers will be included in Insight Edition’s new book Star Wars: The Lightsaber Collection by Daniel Wallace.

The Star Wars sequel trilogy has been a wile ride. Some of the choices were questionable, so it is an understatement to say that the trilogy got a very mixed reception. Regardless of what one may think of the results, it told a story mainly focused on Rey, portrayed by Daisy Ridley. Even if the writing could have been improved in some places (your mileage may vary), Daisy Ridley gave it her all with her acting abilities. Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker was advertised as the end of the saga films. But of course, it is possible for Lucasfilm to change their minds in the future.

Daisy Ridley now has been involved with Star Wars for over five years and has seen the best and worst sides of the Star Wars fandom as a whole. We all have seen the backlash to The Rise of Skywalker online. Everything from mild annoyance or fans being displeased with the way Lucasfilm had taken the direction of the film to showing over all hatred and even death threats all over twitter towards the actual cast who was in the movie.

Even though George Lucas sold Lucasfilm, and by extension Star Wars, to Disney in October 2012, he has still popped up every once in a while as further live-action projects were made. Famously, he was not very involved with the sequel trilogy, though J.J. Abrams did talk about having a discussion about the Force with George as The Rise of Skywalker was being made. In terms of being physically present on the set of a film, however, we know that George visited the sets of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story. For the latter, he gave the suggestion that Han would just leave a coat lying on the floor rather than pick it up.

Star Wars fans are very hyped for The Mandalorian season 2, which is premiering on October 30 on Disney+. With the season ever-approaching, many fans have been expecting and asking for a season 2 trailer. Personally, I would be totally fine if no trailer were released at all. People would likely still watch. And anyway, I do not even remember the season 1 trailer.

It has been a little over a year since the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World Resort. This section allowed Star Wars fans the experience to go to a place that feels like it exists within the Star Wars galaxy, giving them the opportunity to pilot the Millennium Falcon, purchase items that have been seen within the franchise, or simply drink blue or green milk. Even though the planet Batuu had not been featured within the films, it felt like a place straight out of the films. It helped that some fans became more familiar with Batuu via books and comics.

As the Star Wars universe has expanded (or shrunk once Disney made everything outside of the films and The Clone Wars prior to mid-2014 non-canon, putting them under the Legends umbrella), we get to see more and more backstories for our favorite characters. One might make the argument that we do not need as much backstory as we have gotten. The prequel trilogy has shown that not every question about backstory needs an answer. At the same time, however, it is interesting to see more of the characters we know and love.
