It has been a little over a year since the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World Resort. This section allowed Star Wars fans the experience to go to a place that feels like it exists within the Star Wars galaxy, giving them the opportunity to pilot the Millennium Falcon, purchase items that have been seen within the franchise, or simply drink blue or green milk. Even though the planet Batuu had not been featured within the films, it felt like a place straight out of the films. It helped that some fans became more familiar with Batuu via books and comics.

Given the health concerns pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, it has not been possible for many people to experience Galaxy’s Edge as of late. Those who have been there may miss it and be getting withdrawals, and there are surely many people who have never been and would love to go once everything seems completely safe.

For those who want to experience a bit of it vicariously, there is now a virtual tour of Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. In the Ithorian’s shop, you can see various items, including lightsabers and holocrons. The video, which is available below, is a 360-degree video. So the viewer is able to turn around and view other parts of the shop as facts are displayed.

While it may not be the same as being there in person, this virtual tour at leaves gives people a glimpse of the beloved shop from that galaxy far, far away. The video is from summer 2019, so it might not necessarily be the most up to date depiction of the shop. So if anyone plans on going at a later, more ideal time, they can see what has changed a bit about the shop.

This video, however, is not the only place that people will be able to experience things related to Galaxy’s Edge. There is certainly no shortage at the moment. As far as items go, Target has a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Trading Outpost collection now. This includes a plush Ewok (which some may be delighted to hear does not blink), T-shirts, and a Hasbro figure of Hondo Ohnaka. You can also see more of Batuu in the recent animated shorts from Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures on YouTube.

Plus, you will be able to experience Black Spire Outpost in the medium of video games. First up will be a Sims game pack called The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu, which was announced for a September 8 release. So gamers will be able to explore this pretty much right away. Black Spire Outpost will also appear in an immersive virtual reality via the Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge VR experience from ILMxLAB. This is expected to be released later this year.

All of this should be enough to hold people over until they can go to Black Spire Outpost in person. Whenever they are able to do that, it should be a breath of fresh air.
