What I Eat in a Day as a Black Vegan
My vegan journey began twelve years ago, a long time, I know. I remember the days when I had no clue what to eat. You see, being a Black vegan is hard. Not all the time, but sometimes. When I first decided to dabble in the plant-based lifestyle, my family was shocked. They asked me some of the most annoying questions like, "where will you get your protein from?" The typical questions that just don't make sense to vegans.

A Vegan Adventure In Oxford
I had a day off work and I decided to take the train to Oxford. It’s lovely living near such an historic and beautiful city. Oxford is famous for its prosperous universities, gorgeous architecture, wonderful shopping districts and restaurants. It is also a pilgrimage for entertainment. Many famous films had scenes filmed in this wonderful city such as Harry Potter and Saving Private Ryan. It is also once the home many beloved figures like Inspector Morse, T.S Elliot, Emma Watson, Hugh Laurie and many more.

Is veganism worth pursuing?
Come with me as I explore the benefits of going all out vegetarian rather than sticking to the traditional diet of meat and vegetables. Lately concerns have emerged after my sister died of pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago and a cluster of cysts was found on my pancreas. Some unexplained pains and my increasing age has warned me against sticking to my normal habits, especially in relation to food. Some years ago my leaning more towards vegetables and fruits made me plan my garden to accommodate numerous fruit trees and patches for growing them. The exercise in performing duties to maintain these things has added to my regime. Lately, however, I spend far too much time sitting and writing, especially now it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere. This has taken its toll on my body and being aware that lack of exercise is a recipe for cancer and other health problems my mind is made up. What can I do to ward off unwanted diseases like cancer? Having just written an article on colorectal cancer one of the first things that pops out is the effect of red meat on the body. That is something that has crept back into my diet over the last few months and now it feels like poison. Perhaps a vegan diet is the answer. Here is what has been discovered so far. According to some researchers plant-based diets are recommended because we draw our calories from grain based products, fruit and vegetables. They posit that 70% of all diseases, including one-third of all cancers, are related to diet. They also claim that a vegetarian diet reduces the risk of obesity, coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, and some cancers. The cancer list that is preventable comprises colon, breast, prostate, stomach, lung, and oesophageal. Its low-fat qualities can also reverse conditions, such as those related to the heart. In my diet so far there is no sugar or salt intake other than what is in some foods. With less animal fat and cholesterol there is more fibre and antioxidant-rich produce and for me that means better immune system all round. The bottom line is why not start on a vegan diet today? Next thing is to hunt down some good recipes to help me on my way. Anyone who is obese or suffering from any of the conditions mentioned in this article are best advised to try the switch from animal to plant-based meals. That way they can see for themselves what effect they obtain. There is nothing to lose and for me, at least, there may be everything to gain. The mainstream belief of veganism is that it is dangerous, lacking in protein, and will leave a person feeling deprived. Sadly, this could not be any further from the truth. If you are privileged to be acquainted with a long-term vegan, you will likely marvel at their slim and lean physique, their flawless skin and natural beauty, and their evident zest for life. Is the vegan diet healthy? Listed below are 5 famous health benefits of the vegan diet that are seen time and time again by persons who embark on this lifestyle. 1. Weight loss Weight loss is one of the most well-reported benefits of the vegan diet. And without the consumption of fatty, calorie-laden meat and dairy products, this is no surprise. Being a natural low-calorie plant-based diet, veganism is an ideal lifestyle choice for persons who wish to lose some excess weight. 2. Clear up of skin problems Since dairy products such as cheese, cream and butter are notorious for worsening acne, psoriasis, eczema and other skin conditions - it is no wonder that by eliminating these foods a person's skin will heal or drastically improve. Many folks who have undergone the healthy vegan diet have reported a clear-up of their acne and have noticed an overall healing of their skin. 3. Abundant energy Heavy meats and hard-to-digest cheeses and dairy products will often leave a person feeling tired and lethargic after being consumed. That's why so many people feel sleepy and lacking energy after lunch. By ditching these foods and replacing them with fresh fruits, vegetables, tofu and legumes - you can be certain that your energy levels will be constant all day long. So instead of feeling tired and cranky when you come home from work in the afternoon, you will find yourself desiring to go for an evening stroll, or taking your dog for a walk instead! 4. Zest for life Many people who ditch meat and dairy products find that their depression and low moods have improved greatly. This is likely because often, a sick poorly-nourished body results in a despondent, low spirit. On the contrary, a well-fed, nutrient-dense diet results in a positive, happy frame of mind. Vegans are known for their happy disposition and zest for life. 5. Prevents, Treats, Cures & Alleviates Health Problems. Ditching meat and dairy products and replacing them with fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, tofu and legumes is an ideal decision to treat various health diseases. The vegan diet is perfect for treating high cholesterol and high blood pressure, preventing certain cancers, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis and diabetes 2, as well as alleviating various ailments and pains such as arthritis. These are some of the many amazing health benefits of the vegan diet. Is the vegan diet healthy? If this diet can prevent and treat chronic disease, facilitate weight loss, clear up skin disorders, provide amazing energy levels, and enable a person to cultivate a zest for life - I would definitely say that the vegan diet is healthy. Wouldn't you agree? These 5 health benefits prove that veganism is worth pursuing.

Vegan Campout 2021
Friday Dinner: Burger meal from Hogless Roast. I went to a Vegan Campout in Newark Showpark. People wondered why I was going? They said to me, “Chloe, what you going to the Vegan Campout for? You’re not a vegan.” Given everything that’s been going on during Covid, I wasn’t sure if it would go ahead because I booked the tickets in February. Luckily, it got given the green like gut to go ahead.

5 Things to Not Say to a Vegan!
The Vegan 'movement' has taken off at an enormous rate in recent years, and with celebrities everywhere promoting the cause, (think Joaquin, Di Caprio and Pamela Anderson to name but a few) more and more of us are ditching dairy, saying ''meh'' to meat, and ''see-ya'' to sushi.

Eat More Plants Please. Top Story - July 2021.
Making the transition to a plant-based diet is easier than you think but it does take some perseverance. Like any new challenge, if you try to tackle it all at once, you will quickly become consumed by the overwhelming amount of information available. Recipes, influencers, nutritional recommendations, and plant-based food substitutes will bombard you from every direction, and good luck trying to avoid that one vegan friend of yours who has suddenly taken an intense interest in your health and well-being (I know because I’ve been that friend a time or two).

Vegan is Fine for Everyone
I was in the shower this morning (not an image you want in your head I know) and I read the side of my Lacura Shower Gel that I got from Aldi and it said "Suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians". Then I thought if something is suitable for Vegans then it is also suitable for Vegetarians.
