Amazingly Easy Apple Butter
It's that time of year again when there's a crispness in the air and the leaves are beginning to change. One of the great things about this time of year is that one of my favourites come on sale: apples. You can get so many different varieties now and there are always new ones to try.

Be the Fungi
As the summer grows late and the trees fill themselves with the last reserves of the deep green chlorophyll of summer, many will hike deep into the mountains of Colorado. They are in search of a hidden treasure that only comes with patience and a little luck. It is the season of mushroom hunting in the mountains.

Just Grubbin Series: Cooking with Walker, Pt. 1- Pork Tenderloin Wrapped in Bacon. Top Story - June 2017.
I asked big daddy, Lauren, if I could try something different from our normal JG reviews for a couple posts. He enthusiastically agreed, because this is a genius idea, and I am a fucking wizard in the kitchen. So here goes nothing, "Cooking with Walker, Pt. 1" and for those who think this is a video thing, eat shit, I ain't got time to be recording all the meals I make. I just wanna cook and eat.

Best Grilling Gear
Unless you're a real professional pitmaster, there's only so much that a poorly crafted barbecue pit can do. Cooking the old fashioned way is difficult and frankly, it often means that you will end up doing twice the work and only get bare-bones results. Even those of us with the most in-depth cook books could only get mediocre results without the best gear.

Lately, I've been seeing cauliflower replace just about anything and everything in order to satisfy some craving... First, there were cauliflower "wings" in place of chicken wings, then it was cauliflower rice, now there's cauliflower pizza crust.

Ode to Gluten Free
Gluten free is more than meets the eye. When you first approach it, eating gluten free looks like one of those monsters in the horror movies people like watching. Hunger gnaws at your stomach because at that last restaurant, you knew you could eat the salad and fruit, but were too scared to try anything else. You vowed you would never eat out again. But then you come home and stare at the refrigerator in dismay because it seems every food product stares back at you with a sinister gaze.

Common Cooking Mistakes You Should Avoid
As many people in the tri-state area could tell you, I used to be a professional food critic. In those years, I actually worked hard to develop a good palate for food, a fine understanding of what it takes to make a good meal, and a good grasp of food flavor pairings.
