My Zen Time
When I need to center myself or calm myself down I also go to music. Most times I ask for my daughters' recommendation because she is always finding things that help her center herself. If I have a headache she has something to help me. If I am having trouble sleeping she has just the right thing to help me. Sometimes we will look for meditation music to soothe the heart as well as the mind and soul. Other times we will listen to the classic playlists that get us cheered up or centered, gets our moods up, and gets our blood pumping again.

Music to Unwind to
Whether I'm having a good day or a bad day, there is always a playlist or song to fit my mood. Good music has saved my life, and made me feel connected to the world around me. It's the universal language, and I don't know where I'd be without it. The emotion behind finding a song that perfectly describes how you're feeling, sometimes even better than you yourself could have even put into words. Or finding a beat or melody that captures memories or a moment in your life you thought you could never get back. That, for me, is the magic behind music.

Evoke Some Theta Brainwaves With This Zen Downtempo Compilation
It’s believed the olfactory is the strongest sense tied to memory, but there’s something about sound that recalls some of the most distinct feelings and sensations, and instantly transports you to the most particular of moments.

Speaking to My Soul
How can someone write an article plucking out just ONE playlist of music. For me, there are many things to consider. Am I trying to calm down my heart from aching? Or quit my mind from it's constant racing? Meditating can be done in many different ways. Soothing my soul takes a lot of practice, add a subscription to Apple Music and we can really go anywhere. There is one song that sums it up for me and it's almost laughable but if music speaks to your soul like it does me, this track makes perfect sense.

Titles for Walking
Titles for Walking When I am out walking, which isn't a whole lot anymore, I invariably run songs through my mind. Kicking in really fast because it pertains to my activity, I may find myself singing softly and striding to Fats Domino's "Walking to New Orleans", and then find I can remember but two verses. Ain't That a Shame? I can just picture him up On Blueberry Hill picking blackberries because blueberries are in short supply in South Louisiana. As a matter of fact, hills are also in short supply, but I guess a levee would do. And there is no shortage of levees in New Orleans

The Magic Playlist
Did you know the music you listen to has the ability to transform your life? A couple months ago I saw a TikTok by @kingsoon7447 who was singing a money mantra, and to say this video went viral would be an understatement. Hundreds of thousands of people reacted to the video, dueting and sharing their stories of abundance coming to them after they listened to the sound clip on repeat, which got me thinking...

Rebirth: A Ritual Release Experience
Music is a part of everything I do. Meditation is also a part of everything I do. I believe music and sound are the most healing components that are available to us in the world. Music is a language that everyone understands. Thousands of people who speak different languages can be sitting in an audience listening to the same piece of music and it can move all of their souls at once. That's how powerful music is and why it's a part of everything in my life.

A Spotify Playlist to Make You Feel Like the Main Character. Second Place in Zen Playlist Challenge.
The air smells like serotonin. The sky is a beaming blue, and the sun's warmth finally outweighs the winter's cold. My sneakers are ready to replace my clunky, winter boots, and the camera on my iPhone is itching for some breezy, springtime photos.

Prompting the feelings
I meditate daily. I have for years, but it's been even more important since the world changed in ways I never imagined. First, there's the stress and grief we're all feeling from the pandemic. Second, I'm going through personal heartbreak. Third, I miss, and cannot see my family, due to them being out of state, and I have a fractured right foot.
