Self-Care Is
Two years ago, I wrote an article on Vocal about different ways to celebrate self-care. I wanted to create the list as simply as possible. In 2019 the word self-care became a buzzword on social media. Every meme, caption, story, and post reflected what self-care meant. During that time, I was learning what it meant for me. The first time I ever heard that word was during one of my therapy sessions.

My Roll Dogs
For the record, I am not a dog owner. I'm speaking things into existence which is another word for manifestation. If I had dogs, this is how they would behave in my imagination; this is just a fun and humorous article to help me get through writers' block and imposter syndrome.

Reasons To Join Vocal Creators Saloon
Hello, My name is teisha leshea, and I'm the administrator for Vocal Creators Saloon. I gave birth to this group because I was blocked from another group for being "overly engaged." That situation allowed me to jump ship and create my community of writers.

Using My Blackness For Likeness
I haven't been able to write on Vocal for some time, and I'm noticing some things that are starting to rub me the wrong way. I'm only providing constructive criticism, and I refuse to hold back my thoughts and opinions about the platform. I am welcome to communicate with those in charge to improve black voices.

6 Questions You Should Ask During A Job Interview
Unemployment is starting to run out, and now you're forced to get back into the workforce. The majority of the unemployed population has anxiety about going back into the workforce. Not because of laziness, it's because of an unspoken truth about employers and how they treat employees. The microaggressions, stress, unhappiness, politics, and mental health needs more attention. Employers save money when they don't hire certain committees to tackle those situations that leave employees unseen, unheard, and angst towards coworkers and higher-ups within the company. Working-class citizens need to keep these companies accountable in creating a healthier workspace.

Strike Three
"I wish I could do it all over again." That quote has been floating in my mind for the past few days. As I sit back and watch Woman's College World Series, I finally admitted that I missed an opportunity to play varsity for my high school softball team. At the age of fifteen was my last time swinging a bat and throwing a softball. I was a late bloomer when I started playing. Many young girls start at tee-ball and slowly climb the softball ladder until high school and college. I started the game at nine years old, and from that point on, softball consumed me; not all athletes are born to have natural-born talent. I can say with a straight face that I did have natural abilities. I was fast, had an arm, and had power when I swung the bat.

5 Life Lessons I've Learned So Far
As my birthday slowly approaches, I spend more time contemplating and re-evaluating my growth which falls into three categories: mind, body, and soul. Endless hours of therapy, journal entries, and stories on Vocal, I've witnessed a jump in my mental fitness and clarity. I made a conscious effort to grow and improveannually based on the saying, "you aren't living if you aren't growing." I've had my fair share of ups and downs, and every lesson I've learned I carry with me as wisdom to share it with those who may not know.

It's A Date
Story 1: Love In Two Days - Part of a three-part story series "Have you heard of the Raging Bull County Fair?" Ever since getting out of Ozan's car yesterday, we've been in constant communication. Our text thread alone looks like we've been in a three-year committed relationship. I feel a sense of relief talking to him. I've never felt this way towards a man before, and I must say, "I like it here."
