We Don't Need New Music
We don’t need anything new, there is enough music to keep us going for the rest of our life on streaming services like Spotify and the like. Many years ago , lots of shops sold records but some would only stock the Top 30, and this led to the premise that if the top thirty never changed there would never be any new music.

Zero
Social media sets us a holy grail of a goal of becoming an “influencer” , and that may be Twitter , Facebook , Instagram, YouTube or a blog , and like in other areas of the media say acting or music a very few hit the pay dirt of hitting the holy grail. Most of the time it’s being in the right place at the right time that does that for you.

The Vocal Tipping Benefit
One of the things about writing on Vocal , is that you can publish and then maybe people will read and even heart your story and that will make you feel that you have achieved something. If one person reads and appreciates something I write and publish then that’s a win for me. The fact that Vocal pays you for reads is a tiny bonus but worth it if you get a lot of reads.

A Fiction
This is inspired by a premise that a good friend of mine Chris Ball (he started a blog , The Ape of Wrath which has two excellent posts then that was it) pointed out at a meal. If you were at a table with a corporation , it would just grab everything for itself whether it was hungry and needed food or not.

Can I Write?
I ask myself that question every time I put pen to paper or rather finger to keyboard. The fact that I am doing this answers that question but then leads on to , “So Can I Write Well?” or can “Can I Write Something People Want To Read?”.

Consuming Passion
I once saw a film by this title which posited that humans had two consuming passions , sex and food , or in the film, chocolate. Essentially someone accidentally fell into a vat of chocolate and the resultant product sold like hot cakes , I think you can guess the rest.

Fast And Slow
I find it strange with books , TV and film how similar sized items seem to take such different times to watch or read. I suppose that is mainly whether you want to take it on or you feel you have to take it on. There are so many books , films and TV series that I have on my lists and some are enjoyable but difficult to get through and therefore take much longer and this is true of all media.

The Time Thief
Thirty years ago I would get up, wash , shave shower, make kids breakfast and packed lunches , make my own , then go off to work. After work I would sort out tea, watch TV , maybe practice for a gig , then go to bed. That was effectively pre internet. Yes there was a rudimentary email but nothing worth connecting up for. There were dial up modems but it was expensive and didn’t really give you much.

Vegan is Fine for Everyone
I was in the shower this morning (not an image you want in your head I know) and I read the side of my Lacura Shower Gel that I got from Aldi and it said "Suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians". Then I thought if something is suitable for Vegans then it is also suitable for Vegetarians.

A Tale At Bedtime
On Vocal we create stories, and I am sure my mum and dad would read me stories, but given that my mum had taught me to read before I was four, I found my bedtime stories in reading books. I have two daughters who have grown up to be independent and self confident. Again I read to them, but taught them to read and also had stories on cassette and CD for them, as well as music, to help them get to sleep.
