Sacred Sensuality and Sexuality
Western philosophy has often thought of sensuality and sexuality as the work of the devil, something we should keep taboo and not mention to the vicar. Many Eastern traditions encourage us to delight in our bodies both in the sexual and the sensual, regard the body as the temple of our soul and something which should be honoured as such.
A Good Year
2020 has not exactly been the best of years this millennium, however its had its good points. Yes, seriously, 2020 has had its good points. Stop laughing its true! I mean it! Okay, I will wait until you have stopped being hysterical. I understand, what with Corona virus being the big issue last year its little wonder we can think of any thing good.
Since ancient times humans have looked up to the stars with wonder, observing there movements and deciphering meaning from this. Ancient star gazing was once seen as something of higher learning. Today the study of the stars has become astronomy which is considered scientific and astrology which is considered occult, unscientific and often silly. A product of modern thinking.
Memories for World AIDS Day
Do you remember the 1980’s? I do, I was an 80’s kid. Whilst growing up in these times fills me with fond memories, the 80’s were also a time of miners striking, mass unemployment and those advertisements on the TV. Do you remember them? Those scary grey advertisements warning us about the dangers of A.I.D.S.
Aengus was a god of Celtic folklore and also an Ascended Master. Aengus appears in Celtic folklore and is also known as Oengus and as Maccan Og (the young boy or son). He was born of the gods The Dagda and Boann and appears in five myths of the Irish Texts and was said to have lived by the River Boyne at Newgrange. In Scottish Myths he was the husband of Brigid and the son of the Fairy Queen of Winter, Beira.
Trans and Non Binary
Transgender and non binary people appear to be on the increase and some would say people are jumping on the bandwagon of a new trend. However is this really the case? Is this a relatively new thing or something that has been highly supressed and only now people feel they can be more open about who they are? More and more celebrities are coming forward and being open about who they are. Some celebrities openly against many trans issues. History has shown us many examples of transgender and non binary people. Transgender is a relatively modern word and I now introduce you to some terms you may not have heard of before.
Is Spirituality a benefit to mental health?
I certainly think that there are many benefits to spirituality on mental health and that having mental health issues does not make this exclusive. Anyone can enjoy the benefits of a spiritual life which is indeed part of the human experience I believe society is rejecting to the detriment of there emotional and mental wellbeing.
