In the Stillness of the Night

by Lewis Stan Jacobs about a year ago in nature poetry
Report Story

A poem

In the stillness of the night

Humbled I sit quietly alone

Wrapped in a whispering blanket

Surrounded with my senses

The stillness of the night

Barely breathing in sweetness

Bringing peace into my world

Until morning steals you away

The stillness of the night

My mind is clarity itself

As the dew on a blade of grass

Drifting thoughts of my love

The stillness of the night

Come take me within heaven

Enthralled in ecstasy

Breathe forever in my soul

The stillness of the night

Captured and restfulness

The beauty of all divine

The soul abandoning darkness

The stillness of the night
