My honesty is black and white for you to read...
Although, her skin was tanned and lean Her body no longer felt like a flexible, youthful machine So many aches, bruises, and other annoying growing-old cons

As I began filing down my nails and overthinking my next weekly color I had flashbacks of my younger years as a mother A Sunday routine set aside for a busy, overwhelmed woman to show the world she tries
Starting off my morning routine, coffee in hand Dance moves on point as I am off in my own "la la" land The song with the lyrics to "Montana" spark my mind to the place of the past
These people, who are most comfortable during the night Always the first ones to slander others in an attempt to create a fight
Her heart was the essence of the meaning of gold His was the overthinking, scorned description of cold They both had dreams, most often of times, on opposite sides
She knew they were struggling with her being gone And yet so was she but yet, she felt like she had to be strong How could she move so many miles away and life not change in any way

The waves in the distance are tuned into my ears in full bass My mind stared off into the distance, as if, I could see into space
Sitting here drinking my coffee and I feel as if there is an elephant sitting on my chest After a long night of tossing and turning so, I didn't get any rest
Once again thrown in my face You're living a life that you are trying to replace Each moment of every day... me trying to improve myself in every way
Her mind was confused and yet clear as could be It was always him and yet he couldn't see How many years would it take For him to understand that her love wasn't fake
As she paced back and forth across the kitchen floor Her stomach was upset unlike anything ever before This didn't feel like food poisoning or bad health
As the day passes by she is consumed by the past The who, what, why and if anything is meant to last The mind The body The voice
