Women, people of color, and the LBGTQ community must vote for change
The old adage that actions speak louder than words has got to be the attitude during the 2020 presidential election. A strong message must be sent to Donald Trump and the Republican Party that leaves absolutely no doubt that the will of the people has been carried out. Women, people of color and those who are part of the LBGTQ community need to send a clear and precise message to Washington DC. Joe Biden needs to win by a landslide and his victory should leave absolutely no doubt that America has spoken loudly and clearly. There cannot be even one iota of doubt that Donald Trump has been voted out of office by the citizens of the United States of America.

My love affair with French Onion Dip
It was the summer of 1968 and I was 10 years old. I was spending the weekend with my maternal grandmother's sister, my great aunt Gladys. I had a lot of firsts when I was at her home. We lived in the county and did not have indoor plumbing. The first time I took a bubble bath in a real tub was at the home of Aunt Gladys. She took me and a good friend to see our first movie which was The Knome Mobile. I also got my first taste of French Onion dip while visiting my aunt. Aunt Gladys had four children, three boys and a girl. My cousin June was good friends with a family two houses away where there were four girls. One of those young ladies was having a birthday party and I was invited.

'The Young and the Restless' spoilers tease that Lola may go to the dark side
Lola Rosales showed up in Genoa City as a sweet young woman who did not have love on her mind. She had remained a virgin and was on no hurry for romance, but Kyle changed all of that. He pushed her into dating him and several times it was clear they were not compatable. Lola did not like the fact that Kyle spent money on an expensive handbag for her for Christmas and she had a problem with his being born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Lola had to endure Summer around every corner but she hung in there and gave her heart and virginity to Kyle.

Halloween Mystery
This is not a horror story, but one of childhood expectations and fantasy. It took place during the 1960s when I was 8 years old. This was during an era when kids could have real fun, and use their imaginations, playing pretend. Take a trip with me down memory lane and enjoy a blast from the past where the mood was always ripe for the unexplained. I grew up in the Blue Ridge mountains in a town that was named Blue Ridge, in Botetourt County Virginia. The mountain ridges really are blue and our house was about a half-mile from the base of the surrounding mountains.
