'Halloween' is the granddaddy of horror classics
In November of 1978 my husband, (then my boyfriend) and I met another couple at a local movie theater to see a new movie titled Halloween. We had no idea that we were about to be watching history in the making. Halloween is the first of the modern-day slasher films and in my mind, none to date can compare with the first. It was written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, and directed by Carpenter. In 1978 movie audiences were not used to blood and gore, chills, and thrills as they are today. Freddie Krueger, Jason, and other movie monsters simply do not measure up to the one and only Michael Myers, who continues to creep people out even today more than 4 decades later. I believe what makes Halloween so special is the element of surprise. This film kept you guessing throughout the entire movie. There were more suspense and thrills than guts and gore and this is why I believe this film is in a class of its own.

Ryan Chamberlain wreaks havoc again on 'General Hospital'
General Hospital fans for the most part wish Ryan Chamberlain would remain off-screen. Soap fans enjoy action and romance, but not a slasher show. Obviously, the writers believe that because Halloween is near, that the creepy twin of Kevin Collins must make an appearance, and he has. On Friday, he called Ava collect as she was talking to Nikolas and Julian. Nava was just beginning to get close and now Dr, Chamberlain maty rip them apart. Spoilers indicate that Ryan was the recipient of the letter that was to be opened upon Nelle's death. This would indicate that he knows all of Julian's secrets.

Trump supporters please take the blinders off
One of the saddest things that I have been witnessing lately is how low Donald Trump’s supporters are sinking. They have listened to his rhetoric so long that they have become robots who record and play back the Trump sound. There are some who have expressed outrage at recent revelations but the hardcore base is working overtime in attempts to paint him in a better light. Donald Trump is guilty of tax fraud which is a federal crime punishable with jail time. His supporters are pointing out that he does not keep his salary for being the president. Some have said that Biden became rich while working in the government. Neither of these statements have anything to do with the fact that the Donald has broken the law.

Christian LeBlanc rocks gray hair post-COVID.
Fans should play nice. One of the more interesting aspects of the coronavirus is taking place in daytime drama. Due to COVID restrictions, the actors are having to do their own hair and makeup. This must be difficult when these soaps stars have had professionals to do this for them for years, even decades. Some fans have made ugly comments but most have been supportive. Kelly Thiebaud and Chad Duell who are on General Hospital were on the receiving end of nasty fans who don’t like their new look. Thiebaud is wearing bangs and Duel is thinking of or has cut his hair. Melody Thomas who portrays Nikki Newman on The Young and the Restless was belittled by some viewers because she wore a wig in a few scenes.

General Hospital actor puts bullying fans on notice
William deVry recently addressed a growing social media issue which is fans overstepping and insulting soap stars. A few weeks back Kelly Thiebaud who is deVry’s current love interest on General Hospital was bullied online. The actress had just returned to the ABC daytime drama and was wearing bangs. Mean spirited viewers attacked her said some pretty mean things. Thiebaud addressed the issue in a very polite way but she never should have had an issue to address. Now, deVry who portrays Julian Jerome has had several post-COVID hairstyle changes but the responses I have read about his hair have been positive. In his recent tweet, he addresses fans who obviously have said something about the mane of Chad Duel who portrays Michael Corinthos, on GH.
