'The Young and the Restless' hires new actress while veteran cast members remain on the sidelines

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, The Young and the Restless is bringing a new character to Genoa City. Actress Madison Thompson will arrive in town as a worldly woman named Jordan. No other information is available but many fans are not happy with this news. There are cast members of the CBS sudser who are getting no airtime and viewers do not understand why there is a new hire. Paul, Christine, Michael, Lauren, Esther, Kevin, and Chloe are beloved and fans have been crying out to see them on screen, Viewers have also been asking for Judith Chapman to return as Gloria. Doug Davidson is supposed to return soon as Paul, but nothing has been said about the other veteran actors. The Baldwin/Fisher family is beloved by many viewers and fans are wondering why they are no longer being seen.

Head writer Josh Griffith has said he was bringing back the glory days of genoa City but that cannot be done by adding new cast members and forgetting history. Spoilers alerts within the past month have also suggested that two additional actresses would join the cast of The Young and the Restless, but there has been no confirmation. The first is Kristen Alfonso who is best known for her role as Hope Williams Brady on NBC's Days of Our Lives. The second is Courtney Hope who was just fired as Sally Spectra on CBS sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful.

Kristian Alfonso who portrayed Hope Brady off and on Days of Our lives for 37 years. Alfonso just wrapped up her close to 4 decades on the NBC soap and is alleged to have been in talks with Y&R executives. One rumor said that she might be a love interest for Jack Abbott. Several Genoa City residents have recently been telling Jack that he needs love in his life. At this point nothing more has been said about Kristian Alfonso joining Y&R. Madison Thompson looks a bit young to be dating Jack but Kerry was with him and she was much younger.

Spoilers also said that Courtney Hope was coming to The Young and the Restless after being fired from sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful, but nothing else has been revealed. Hope currently is the stand in on General Hospital for love scenes with her real life boyfriend Chad Duel who portrays Michael Corinthos. Thompson, Hope, and Alfonso are beautiful women and also talented actresses. 20 year old Thompson portrayed Erin Pierce on the Netflix show Ozark. Perhaps, based on her age she might be a love interest for Theo, who at this point continues to mistreat women.

Theo messed things up with both Summer and Lola. He also brought Zoe to Genoa City to cause trouble. If Jordan is going to be a worldly character perhaps Mr. Vanderway will meet his match in her. Spoilers will probably give more information about this new character before her first air date. In the meantime, loyal Y&R fans still seek answers as to why their favorite characters are no longer on screen. Jess Walton, who portrays Jill has chosen to have a lesser role on the show s0 that she can spend more time with her family. Doug Williams has stated several times that the powers tha tbe have his phone number and all they have to do is call.

There had been rumors that Judith Chapman was returning as Gloria but nothing came of it. Chloe is supposed to have her baby soon, so she and Kevin will be on screen and hopefully, Esther, Michael and Lauren will be on hand. None of these cst members are connected to anything that is currently taking place in Genoa City, so once the baby is born the writers must come up storylines that keep them on the screen. There was a rumor a little while ago that Greg Rikaart might be leaving The Young and the Restless again. If he does, then Chloe and their son will naturally go with him.
