‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Zander, Gladys, and BLQ return
Spoiler alerts for General Hospital reveal that trouble is brewing and 3 former characters will soon show their faces in Port Charles. They will be a part of current storylines but it’s not clear how long each of them will stick around. The first familiar face will be Gladys Corbin who is always a joy to have around. She is quirky, unpredictable, and trouble follows her like a magnet. Unfortunately neither her son Brando nor Carly will be happy to see Gladys back in Port Charles. It’s being implied by spoilers that she is the one is the one who gave Cyrus Renault the information he is using to blackmail her son.

The emotions connected to grieving a spouse
As I write this my husband has been dead one week and we had his service yesterday, My emotions are all over the place and I’m going with them. Up down and all around this has been a rollercoaster ride and I want off. At times I’m in shock and want to scream because my life partner of 45 years is gone. I only spent the first 17 years of my life without my late husband and that’s a lot to reflect upon.

Give the Royal Family a break
I am looking at recent events surrounding the Royal family in a different light than most others and I believe they need to be given a break. Please remember that Prince Phillip is 99 and Queen Elizabeth is 93. They have lived for 9 decades in a world where people only look like they do. If anyone did question the color of baby Archie it’s nothing more than many black families have done. Whenever a child is of mixed race heritage there is always someone wondering what kind of complexion he or she will have.

Doug Davidson believes he is done on 'The Young and the Restless'
For the past 3 years, Doug Davidson fans have been complaining that the veteran actor on The Young and the Restless is not being treated fairly. Lauralee Bell who portrays Davidson's wife on the show has been seen twice in recent weeks, but his character Paul Williams has been noticeably absent. Disgruntled viewers signed a petition some time back and the actor said that he was going to be seen more in Genoa City. Instead, new characters are being added to the CBS daytime drama and Davidson says he is tired.

Grief must be dealt with alone
Once you announce a loved one’s passing, the condolences begin. People call, text, visit, inbox and instant message. They give cards, some with money, send flowers and load you up with food. This is commendable and appreciated but it does not go on forever. Once the casket is closed and the deceased laid to rest, however, things begin to change. It’s true counseling is available and that some people may keep up with you for a while. What is also real and factual is that thetr are some things you must do alone.

I am now a widow
My husband passed away this week and we had been married 40 years and together 45. To say I am devasted is an understatement. This man was in my life every day for 4 decades and now I feel lost without him. I know I will make it but there are so many things that are different now that I am a widow. I feel vulnerable to situations that I did not pay attention to before. I brushed off men who flirted because I had a man, but things have changed. As I was getting into the car today I saw a neighbor with 3 other males sitting on his porch. I wondered if they knew and would they be looking at me differently?

FYI: Some baby animals eat their mother’s poop
There are some similarities between baby animals and young children. One is the fact that they all begin their lie sustained by milk. Human children transition from milk to soft baby food before eating meals from the table. I remember from when I was a child an older woman who chewed food then put it in her grandson's mouth because he did not yet have a full set of teeth. He could not chew solid food for himself and I don’t know why the family did not purchase baby food. In my opinion this was absolutely disgusting and I had not thought of it in decades until today.

FYI: Separating facts from myths associated with Saint Patrick's Day
March 17 is Saint Patrick's Day and considered a great day for the Irish. In America this occasion is big business with stores filled with hats, party favors, candy, napkins, plates, large shamrocks. beads and other items all in green. There are a lot of myths and folklore mixed in with the truths that are associated with the man for whom this date is observed. Lets take look at a few of them. He was born Maewyn Succat but changed his name to Patricius or Patrick which means father figure when he became a priest. He is known as the patron saint of Ireland but was actually born in Britain while it was under Roman rule. He was sent to Ireland as a missionary in later years and that is how the stories began.

Amazing benefits of sunlight through a window
The benefits of sunshine on our skin are numerous for our well-being. Direct sunlight increases feel-good endorphins and improves our mood and can lift depression. You might also have heard that the sun shining on you through a window does not offer the health benefits that are gleaned from direct contact with our brightest star. If you or someone know is homebound and unable to get outside and enjoy the daylight there is good news. Studies now indicate that you can indeed receive benefits from the sun through a window glass.
