Get to know YD
Tell us about you: My artist name is YD, and I was formerly known as 410 YD. I was raised in Annapolis, MD but am currently living in Nashville, TN studying Music Business full-time at Belmont University. I love music because I enjoy making things that I like listening to, and I want to reach different audiences worldwide that can appreciate and relate to my music. While not too big, I love the influence that I have as an artist, and as my influence grows I want to use it positively. I firmly believe that the diversity of my music is what sets me apart from other artists. Many artists tend to find a lane that works and stick to it. That is far from my intention when I’m making songs. I have written and recorded songs that range in genre from hip-hop to alternative, to house, to pop. I try not to stick to one style. I feel like my lane is just what I make, and while I’m known as a rapper, my music could fit into multiple genres; however, all of my songs distinctly sound like me and have a unique feel. I want to make music that everyone can enjoy, no matter the age, gender, race, sexuality, etc., therefore growing my fan base further and expanding my audience. In five years, I see myself touring around the country or even the world, making and selling merch, perhaps signed to a label, working together with artists I look up to and would collaborate well with, working with different clothing brands, and creating pieces with them, and making music as a full-time career living in a city like Atlanta, New York, or Los Angeles. I love working with other talented artists, and I want to be able to put the spotlight on them as well as myself as an effect of the growth of my following. I want to be acknowledged and awarded for my craft, and winning awards for my music is one accomplishment I strive for. I feed off of others’ energy, and I am thankful for the talented and hungry artists that I enjoy working with. I strive for greatness and nothing left when it comes to my music. I want to go down as one of the best at what I do, and I am determined to be remembered as a legend in the music industry. I bring a lot of positivity, relatability, energy, creativity, and personality to the music world through my songs. I want to be remembered as an advocate for mental health, a performer, a lyricist, an influence in the music industry as well as the fashion industry, and a significant personality in the industry. I am currently working on a project, and am planning on releasing singles and music videos beforehand to gain momentum for the project. I plan on being more active and posting more content on social media platforms such as Instagram reels, TikTok, and YouTube. I want to grow my audience and fan base across multiple platforms, so I can gain more traction and momentum, therefore increasing the growth of my craft and the influence and visibility of my music. Music is my passion and my life, and I plan on being a relevant figure in this industry for as long as possible. I plan on making it in this industry as an artist, and I am not stopping anytime soon. This is all I want to do, and I am going to keep going until I achieve my dreams and become one of the greatest of all time.

New upcoming film company from Grand Rapids aims to be different within the community
Studio 47 is a film & photography company based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Owned by Joe Watkins and Back Street Films. Based in and around Grand Rapids has showed many people who love film that you can do anything if you put your mind to it. Growing up I would play with my moms camera taking pictures and videos outside. I loved going outside and watching the birds fly around or going to the beach and watching the sunset. I knew from there that I would want to do film, many people doubted me because getting in that industry is a challenge. That didn’t stop me from chasing my dream of directing my own movie or series. I always wanted to do something different in the world and make a difference, I knew that film would help me get there by showing people the world through my eyes. I enjoy film making because it sets me apart from the crowd it gives you endless possibilities, you can start with little to no gear to using high tech gear all with little experience. I not only love film it’s my passion and i want to change the world with it. Everyone thinks that you have to have lots of money to make good content that is not true. I started from the bottom by shooting some videos with my friend with a $20 camera and worked my way up to shooting and directing a music video with high quality gear. I’m different as a film maker because the little things are what count I put every attention of detail into my work. I shoot and edit each piece as its own and create a work of art. It’s more than just film it’s growing closer with clients and getting to know them for more than who they are. In 5 years I see myself directing my own films for Netflix and other companies. That’s a long shot but hard work and dedication are what counts. I know that it will take long days and endless shots before I become perfect and good enough for Netflix to recognize my work. That won’t stop me from trying to do my best and making good content that brings people closer to film. I understand that not everyone makes it in the industry and some people do but that should not stop you from setting out to create content. Who knows what will happen you may think it’s not the best but if you use the right tools you may get the attention of someone who’s big in the industry. Aside from that I bring endless ideas to the film industry I write down every movie or scene idea I think of down in my notes. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with an awesome plot or story and I just have to add it to my notes. There is not right or wrong way to do film and that’s why I strive to show people that anyone can do it if you have a positive attitude and use your imagination. I don’t want to be remembered for fame or for money or for directing that one show or movie, I want to be remembered for making a difference in someone’s life big or small. I want people to know that I was more than just a director I was a person who had a passion for film and for helping people. I want to end this one one note that don’t let the world stop you from doing what you want to do, whether it’s film or something your passionate about not matter what keep grinding and keep going the hard work will pay off.

Get to know musically gifted Kevlar siickk
What’s your name and where are you from? My artist name is Kevlar siickk. What inspired me to create that name was my hardcore, unique, aggressive, and bulletproof rap style that is relentlessly filled with energy and originality. Also, I wanted to separate myself from modern-day rappers by giving myself an uncommon name such as Kevlar Siickk. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, which I created a nickname for, which is called Mafia city. I'm sure that the name is self-explanatory due to everyone already knowing the history of the Las Vegas City.

Get to know Terry Jones
What’s your artist name and where are you from? Terry Jones, I’m from Pittsburgh PA. Why do you love music? I’ve always loved music and felt a bit of a calling. Music is one of the ultimate forms of expression, one that can be enjoyed without translation. No matter the genre, it’s the ultimate art form. I remember being obsessed with songs by MJ and Prince. My parents always had Marvin playing, Al Green playing and so many dope artists. I would watch Kool Moe Dee and thought rapping was cool. Music has a way of touching lives and creating relatability even without lyrics.
