How to Get Back on TrackTop Story - August 2018
Hello my little lovelies! So two weeks ago I went to see my husband in Connecticut and I had a wonderful time seeing him. It was great seeing him after two months without personally seeing each other. With that being said, being healthy wasn't exactly in the books. We ate anything and everything we could get our hands on and when we went to Mystic, Connecticut we had a nice non-healthy dinner and also noshed on a few treats from the local bakery. With that being said, when I came back home the first thing I did was weigh myself. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it was pretty bad that I went into shock for a minute.

How to 'Cheat' on Your Non-Cheat Days
Hello, my little lovelies! So I know there are days when we're supposed to be healthy, but we just can't help those cravings that we get for delicious, unhealthy foods that we are supposed to avoid. I have found some ways to go around that still satisfy the craving but won't completely derail you so bad that you want to give up.

Taking My Fitness Journey Recently
Hello, lovelies! So a lot of people have asked me personally why I started taking weight loss and nutrition seriously the past couple of months. So I'm writing this post to answer those questions and give a little insight as to why I kicked into high gear.

Vegan Fettucine Alfredo
Hello, my lovelies! So one of my favorite foods, as friends and family know, is Fettuccine Alfredo, especially with shrimp or chicken. One of the many downsides to this dish is that it is full of dairy because of the cheese, heavy cream, and butter. So since I started eating healthier, I have tried many variations of this dish and finally found a recipe that I love and the good part about it is that it's easy to make. Now if you're just making the sauce because you don't want to bloat but want meat, go ahead and throw some chicken or shrimp in there. You'll get all the creamy goodness without the bloating or being constipated. Or if you're vegetarian or vegan, add some mushrooms in there. It's all up to you!

Meatless Meatballs
Hello my little lovelies! So for my second veggie recipe I wanted to be a little creative and I made meatless meatballs! These guys are perfect for spaghetti and meatballs or if you're throwing a party and you have friends that are vegetarian. These are quick and easy to assemble so you're not doing too much to these guys. And again, all the seasonings will be to your taste, so I'm just going to put the seasonings that I used and then you guys can adjust it to your taste buds.

3 Dairy Alternatives
Hello my lovelies! This isn't exactly a meal prep recipe but I wanted to write for those like me who are lactose intolerant who love dairy but don't want to eat dairy every time we're craving cheese or ice cream. This is also for those ones who aren't lactose intolerant but don't want to feel bloated all the time after they eat a bowl of ice cream or a thick rich milkshake. When I went vegan for two weeks last year I found some great alternatives to dairy when I was making creamy sauces and stuff like that.

Cajun Spiced Meatless Patties
Hello, my lovelies! So as I stated, I am going to start doing some meatless meal prep recipes for those of you who don't really like meat or don't want to eat meat for every meal. I recently went out and bought a bunch of cans of beans so I can make veggie stuff. I like tofu but you're only supposed to eat a certain amount of soy and it's also one of the biggest GMO crops out there so I try to steer clear of it unless I'm really craving it or wanting something that mimics fried chicken without the chicken. So this will be the first of three veggie recipes and I hope you guys enjoy them.

Slow Cooker Chicken
Hello my lovelies! So for this recipe, it's not going to be a meal prep recipe exactly but you can use it for meal prep. For this chicken recipe, you can put this with any carbs or veggies that you wish and make it versatile and flexible. The good thing with meal prep is that you can mix and match things to keep it interesting. I know meal prep can get very monotonous and boring and at times you're like "Yeah, no." This recipe is also great for a busy mom who can just throw this in the crockpot in the morning and let it cook while they are at work then just pull it apart or serve it however they like to the family and then they can just worry about sides and stuff. Or be like me on some days when I don't want to really cook but I know I have to meal prep so I can stay on track with my goals. You can virtually do this with any meat and then just change up the seasonings to complement the meat. I wouldn’t recommend doing it with fish because fish is already delicate and if you slow cook it, I have found it turns to mush and it’s not appetizing at all

Tips and Tricks to Losing Water Weight
Hello, my little lovelies! So one of the tricky things about weight loss, especially for women, is water weight. For some reason, God has a thing against women so we have to carry a lot of water weight in our bellies. Now the body is supposed to have a certain amount of water weight, but the reason why a lot of overweight people like myself have excessive water weight is because we don't drink enough water. Sounds crazy right? How can we have excess water weight even though we don't drink any water? Good question!

How to Maintain Yourself During Vacation
Hello my little lovelies! So recently I went on a vacation to my parents' where the word healthy doesn't even exist. With my new healthy lifestyle changes, it was very difficult to integrate that healthy lifestyle with the cooking that your mother makes that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But you know it's so unhealthy for you but you eat it anyway because it's delicious and come on, would you deny your mom's cooking? I don't think so. So luckily, I only gained half a pound despite my mother's best efforts and I will share with you what I did to enjoy mom's cooking but stay semi-healthy at the same time.

What I Have Learned as a New Military Wife
On April 18, 2018, my husband shipped out for boot camp to start his career in the United States Navy. I knew that day that I wouldn't be able to talk to him on a regular basis like I normally did and I wouldn't be able to see him at all. It was difficult. Very difficult. It was one of the most difficult things I ever had to do in my life. From then on I knew life would never be the same again. That there would be many laughs and smiles but also just as many tears. That was the day that I became a military wife. And I soon learned that it would be one of the hardest things in the world I would ever have to do.

Creamy Chicken Pasta (Non-Dairy)
Hello my little lovelies! So this recipe that I bring today is a warm comforting recipe that will warm anyone's heart. It is a creamy chicken pasta without the dairy! First and foremost, I LOVE pasta. I have always loved pasta. In fact, my favorite pasta is shrimp fettuccine alfredo. I just love the creamy cheesiness and happiness that pasta gives me. But it brings one downside: because it is basically nothing but dairy products all around it tends to make you bloated and constipated. If you're like me and you're lactose intolerant, it has a side effect that's not very nice that I'm not going to elaborate on. So I started looking into dairy alternatives that could make a dish creamy AND not cause much bloating to the person eating it. Because of the corn and the carrots, this dish can be a little on the sweet side. If you want to add some heat, feel free to add in some rep pepper flakes or cayenne pepper or hack go ahead and throw in some hot sauce if you want, it's completely up to you. Again all spices are to taste in this recipe there really is no measurement. Enjoy the recipe!
