Body Shaming
"Body Image" is the way that someone perceives their body and assumes that others may perceive them. This image can also be affected by family, friends, social pressure, and the media. People who are unhappy with their bodies are often unhappy because they don't seek healthy nutrition information, and may, therefore, develop lots of different eating disorders. "Eating disorders" are unhealthy relationships with food that may include fasting, constant dieting, or binging and purging.

Before reading this, you might want to ask yourself what exactly "being in shape" means for you. Is it simply to lose weight and fit into that stunning outfit you've been dying to show off, currently impossible due to the unflattering bulges around your belly? Is it to be healthy, to add years to your life and a daily beam on your face as you munch on superfoods and sip your smoothies? Is it to build muscle and use those glutes, biceps and abs to their greatest advantage?
Hawker HurricanePublished 7 years ago in LongevityThe Road to German Volume Training
German Volume Training teaches the body a valuable lesson of patience and grit. Pick two exercises of opposing muscle groups, like chest with back or quads with hamstrings, and do ten sets of ten reps of each with a minute and a half rest period in between. Your muscles experience a particular type of burn from the high number of contractions, to which the body responds with an aggressive recovery afterward.
The Day I Stopped Taking Pictures.
If you know me, you know I love taking pictures, more like being in the picture though. I remember at some point my sister had become my personal photographer, we had real photo shoot sessions till she grew a bit older and realized that she was actually NOT my slave(just so you know, she is the one that takes endless pictures now). Growing up, I would say I was pretty skinny until I hit puberty and as expected, my body started to change. It became fuller and with the kind of women in my family, it was inevitable that I was soon to inherit their curves, which the Rwandan culture happens to glorify. Which goes without saying that it is the norm for a Rwandan lady to be full-figured or curvaceous as some call it. I was the norm.

Plastic surgery is becoming a regularity for those who want to make subtle changes to their body or face. Through the latest, non-invasive technologies such as VASERlipo and microsurgery, the patient can be left with hardly any scar tissue. However, plastic surgery is still expensive and inherently risky. Also, if plastic surgery becomes a regularity, then the risk increases as well as emotional and mental issues that stem from not knowing how to be alright with one's self.
Andrea DawsonPublished 7 years ago in LongevityWhy You Aren't Seeing Results
I mentioned that the law of attraction highlights putting out whatever you want to receive. This concept is a lot simpler than your ego self would like you to believe. Unfortunately, there is part of you that wants to stay wherever you are in life, even if it is making you unhappy, because you feel like it is the safest route. This mindset causes increased anxiety when you have to change. If you do not sacrifice & change for your own best interest, the universe will cause this change for you. Sometimes this change can even seem traumatic but it is always for the best. Now you’re probably thinking that can’t be true, but that’s just your ego self kicking in again. If you do not take the chance to change your life & you to continue to feed yourself negativity, then negativity will once again find you in your new environment. You have to change your mind to change your environment.
T. ChevonnePublished 7 years ago in LongevityThe Soul and the Subconscious/Conscious Mind
It is crazy but I have this theory or this belief if you call it, that we are all souls/energies in a physical form. But the secret to you truly living, living out your real and honest desires, becoming your greatest version, is to become at one with who you are! The first step is identifying that you are a soul in a physical form. Souls in a physical form you say...
