movie review
From Saving Private Ryan to 300, these military movies contemplate the complexities of war, the courage of soldiers and the many costs of conflict to all sides.
1917 - A Movie Review
Bravery. Bravery is courage. Bravery is doing something that scares you, but you do it anyway. We are all brave. 1917 takes place amidst the battles of World War 1. Two young British soldiers are assigned a mission to deliver an important letter. Heading into the dangerous enemy territory, the two men stop at nothing as they’re faced with peril, challenging their bravery.

Peter EllisPublished 4 years ago in Serve1917 - THE GREATEST WAR MOVIE EVER MADE?
Saving Private Ryan, Battle Of Britain, Dunkirk; there have been numerous war films throughout the years which have told the story of selfless bravery and strength endured by the men who fought in conflict. Each one has brought something new to the structure of war films. Who could forget Stephen Spielberg’s breath-taking opening to Saving Private Ryan? Or the heart-stopping score of Hans Zimmer in Dunkirk? Was it ever possible that a film could come along and achieve the impossible and become the greatest war film of all time?

1917: The Frontline Review
World War One is a period of time that doesn't receive a lot of attention in the movie industry. Maybe it is because the powers that be got involved for less-than-noble reasons, so it wouldn't seem right to try and make a film on the matter. But for the hundreds of thousands of everyman soldiers that thought and died in battle, this was just them following orders, even if they didn't always agree with them.
Peter EllisPublished 4 years ago in Serve A Filmmaker's Review: "Apocalypse Now" (1979)
This is a brilliant film. There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that this film is one of the few films you can call an 'experience'. It has a brilliant set, a brilliant cast and a brilliant sound. There's something incredibly visual about it which means that the audience can get right in there and practically feel the wind from the propellers of the helicopter as "Ride of the Valkyries" plays - and pretty loudly at that. Let's take a look at my history with this film and be prepared, there's a lot to take in!

Today I had just seen the movie Midway and I have to say that it was such a good movie. I mean, it shows about another part of the Second World War that happened between the US and Japan. The battle that happened there I didn’t even remember learning about in school. All I remember about is Pearl Harbor and how horrific it was and how many people had lost their lives that day and it was completely sad. I mean, many people are still buried in the Arizona till this day since there wasn’t any way that they could get out of there.

War can be hell for those that bravely choose to fight for what they believe in, and there is no one more courageous than a United States soldier. Those brave men and women go out into the field with enemies lurking in the shadows. Around every corner could be an enemy combatant looking to end that soldier's life. One must keep their wits about them as attacks can come when they least expect it, in more ways than one. But what if the bad guys weren’t the only ones you had to worry about? What if those who you called brothers in arms were causing you to look over your shoulder? I can’t think of a worse hell than being thousands of miles from home in a country where people are actively trying to kill you, and those who are supposed to be your allies are forcing you to sleep with one eye open. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to The Kill Team.

I am a sucker for inspirational stories so when I first heard of the movie unbroken I definitely wanted to see it. It took quite some time but I eventually got around to seeing it. I don't know what took me so long. I guess there were a lot of blockbuster movies that got in the way and somehow I forgot about watching it.
Brian AnonymousPublished 5 years ago in ServeMy Review of 'Dunkirk'
I've been meaning to watch Dunkirk for a long time but never got to it until this week. I remember seeing the trailer way back when. It was a super long trailer with a whole bunch of soldiers on a dock and some medics trying to get by. Everyone is shoulder to shoulder, so it's really tight. Then, all of a sudden, you hear the music really getting amped up. There is a noise of a plane coming. You can see the fear in their eyes, as each of them start to take notice of the noise. You see a plane coming in and everyone starts ducking. Then the Dunkirk logo pops up.

Robert CainPublished 5 years ago in ServeBest Veterans Day Movies of All Time
Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11 in the United States and serves to honor all those who have served in the US Armed Forces. This holiday originated as Armistice Day (a holiday still celebrated in many countries), which marked the anniversary of the Armistice with Germany that ended World War I. Since 1954, Armistice Day was officially renamed Veterans Day in the US. Since many workers and students have Veterans Day off, it is a good day for celebration in honor of the many men and women who have served in the US Armed Forces (as well as those still on active duty). One easy way to observe Veterans Day is to pick out a war movie or two to watch in observance of the holiday. To help you choose, here are 10 Veterans Day movies to help you honor those who have served our country.
Joseph D. N. KendrickPublished 5 years ago in ServeMy Review of 'The Hunting Party'
The Hunting Party stars Richard Gere, Terrence Howard and Jesse Eisenberg—three pretty popular big name actors right about now but this movie came out back in 2007. I don't quite remember their star power back then. I know Richard Gere and Terrence Howard were pretty big names for a while so maybe the studio was depending on their star power to popularize the movie.
