I’m sure we have all come across someone somewhere talking about self love . The question is what is self love? What do you think self love is ?

I for one think self love varies depending on the person, sure it might be similar to someone but how you show your self love does not necessarily need to be what your friend does or what you see on social media.

Before we dive deep into the ocean of self love . I want us to understand the importance of self love. We are in the time where everyone is on social media from TikTok to instagram, everyone thinks they have an opinion on everything and does not seclude people physically appearance but you have to know that is their opinion not yours the only opinion that you should matter about you are your opinions because you belong to nobody but yourself, don’t let it affect you and always remember ‘you can’t control what others say or do but can always control how you react ‘. Don’t give them power to bring you down. When you begin love yourself unconditionally the need to look like someone else or to be someone you are not becomes nonexistent. You begin to feel comfortable in your skin, You begin to radiate a beautiful energy , your confidence we be on another level.

How to show your self love

As I earlier stated self vole varies to different people, you just have to find out what is it that you love doing that one thing(s) that makes you feel loved. Myself as an example I like doing my skincare, eating good food, taking care of my health cleaning my surroundings , resting when I feel tired and many more. You just have to start doing things for yourself . Make your favorite meal, put on your favorite song and have a solo dance party, have a nice and long bath, do that one thing you have been wanting to do for a while. Make yourself happy do it for you. Stop waiting for a better day or waiting for someone to help you , you have to save yourself. Always choose you. Tell yourself good things.

I know doing these things are not easy, sometimes you just don’t feel like doing anything sometimes you just hate yourself and sometimes you just don’t feel anything . It’s okay let yourself feel for few moments then take deep breaths and pick yourself self back up , Always pick yourself self back. The strongest people the ones who have courage to keep going to keep trying even when they fall. There is an important thing to always remember self love is rooted in self discipline and these means you have to discipline yourself. How do you discipline yourself ? Try planning your day ahead, you can try by not eating fast food for a week.Also forgive yourself , yes forgive yourself. Forgive yourself for the things you have done to hurt yourself, You can start journaling either by writing, recording an audio or video . Just talk to yourself ( no you are not insane). Accept your flaws they are part of you. We are humans our flaws is what makes us beautiful. Take it slow step by step don’t rush it , it is a slow and steady process. This is a tough journey but a beautiful journey. A journey for you at times you feel alone but feeling alone isn’t a bad thing cease the opportunity and enjoy your own company. Investing in you is the best thing.

Be patient with yourself , you deserve all the good things in life, you are enough.
