If you are like me, you have probably at some point in time wondered how the Cannabis plant which grows naturally in the earth ended up being illegal in the United States. There is a long and dark path to how we got to where we are today. The hemp plant first arrived in this nation in 1545 after it was introduced to Chile. It was basically used for making ropes and came to North America at Port Royal, Acadia in 1606. By 1619, the demand for hemp had increased to the point that the Virginia Assembly passed legislation requiring colonists to grow the crop.

Isla WrightPublished 2 years ago in Potent10 Unique Pipes That Double as Home Decor
There's no gentle way to say this: the majority of mainstream cannabis pipes are absolute eyesores. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Nearly every corner store has a case packed full of gaudy glass pieces, their surfaces swirled with neon colors and embossed with 420 emblems. No big deal if you're a twenty two year old still fueled mostly by Four Loko and 7-11 snacks, but - especially in the era of Alexa family drop-ins and Zoom live classes - some of us would prefer a bit more... subtlety.

Gabriel MohrPublished 2 years ago in PotentI Use Medical Marijuana To Treat My PTSD
Decades ago I suffered a lightning strike that left me afraid of turning on a clothes dryer for years. At the time, I didn’t have any of the mental health problems that I do now, like depression and anxiety, so it was hard for me to put into words to my family and friends how I felt about my experience.
Meaghan WardPublished 2 years ago in PotentWhat Dabs are Like
If you haven’t tried dabs before and are curious to find out what it’s like before you indulge, you’ve come to the right place. It’s definitely a smart decision to educate yourself before you try a mind-altering substance you aren’t familiar with. If we recall back when edibles were gaining more mainstream popularity, we had to give the PSA that this is actually a different experience, because it’s a different chemical reaction, and not the same-ol’ Mary Jane you know and love. I find myself doing a similar spiel with dabs when I talk to people about them nowadays.
James S. BrayPublished 2 years ago in PotentYour Friends That Smoke Weed Aren't Lazy
Please note: this is a repost from my Medium page. In 2012, Colorado residents voted to legalize marijuana in a ground-breaking political victory. I was twenty at the time, and even though I was an adamant control freak and had never smoked cannabis myself, I knew enough about it to believe that people deserved a choice. When it was officially legal, I gave it a try and was surprised by the experience, but not as surprised as I was to meet an army of corporate 'stoners' a few years later who changed the way I looked at pot forever.

Paul BoksermanPublished 3 years ago in Potent5 Ways to Hemp Your Life (and Why)
Hemp is inarguably one of the most versatile and useful plants on the planet. In fact, it was so important to our economy that farmers in the colonial days were once required to grow hemp for use of the fibers to produce commodities like paper, ropes, and fuel. The declaration of independence was drafted on hemp paper, George Washington and John Adams farmed hemp, and President Abraham Lincoln used hemp oil to fuel his lamps.
