Where the Gentlest Ones Loved

Let Egyptian Roses Grow There

No one thought to ask

because in truth no one knew

Curiosity the firstborn child of wonder

thus we drank deep

and we grew…

Hands so gentle

A circle and a cycle

No tension and no title

Brand-newly formed flesh

found exploration unlimited

Found love

and love felt good

an immersive pleasure

we of course

wanted more

craved it all absent measure

anticipated sensations silken-rich treasure

Boy

did we search hard

Sniffed every rose

after we stroked petals

and we bought lab equipment

and created soft metals

and we became sunrise

blinked at each day with fun eyes

to roll laughter down the hill

secure in perfect knowledge

softened grass would caress us still

limbs stretching

limbs lengthened

dreams sketching minds strengthened

Evermore joy

dewdrop rain from above

Evermore precious purity

endless evermore love

Effortless smiles and easy to give

slippery tenderness so soothing to live

Unbroken glories inviting and mild

Unspoken kisses exciting and wild

When serenity shattered into fragmented pieces

societal detriments darkened caprices

destroyed our one refuge

with a force that increases

souls can’t stop spinning

screams in our head

massive tearing and punctures and stinging instead

Can’t find a safe place focal point or exit

Was not prepared

was not apprised

purest light extinguished and surrender advised

But

we once lived gentle

uninterrupted bliss

that rhythmic pulsation begs a fluidity we miss

So

now hand over heart

and heart over being

We’ll feel and soon heal

and that will be freeing

Fill bathtubs with cotton

to inject peace in our veins

eradicate evil

with sacred light from our gains

Oh

and we will warn others

though to us was not given

Rising is the wise thing

it’s respect for the living

No one thought to ask

for in truth no one knew

Wisdom the lastborn child of wonder

thus we drank deep

and we grew
