"To: Her"

I hope your daughter grows up
to know how beautiful she is,
not because she's the seed of a King,
but because she is the reflection
of the legacy you will leave around you
as it grows into an incessant garden
of Roses within this immense universe.
I hope she fears not,
says "NO" without fear
in knowing her human body is the temple that guards her immaculate
spirit that neither a man
nor a woman can break.
I hope your daughter laughs
seamlessly,
cries effortlessly,
and feels comfortable with the discomfort of
watching you cry with her.
I hope she never has to learn how to love you,
trust you,
because she knows that since she
was in the womb,
that you're a reflection of the
unconditional love of the MOST HIGH
that rests in your heart
and can never hurt her.
I hope she hugs you,
knows it's okay to kiss your forehead,
Gets mad at you when
you challenge her to think beyond her own feelings
and regrets it for being mad
when she sees you were just helping her grow
into her true self all along.
I hope your daughter grows up to know
that she is a QUEEN.
I hope she loves her melanin
skin
just as much as you love her
for inspiring you.
