It's raining
Not a romantic mizzle
To bring fragrance of shiuli,
Gloriosa Lily, Daisy
Breezy like in poesy
It's raining
Incessantly for a week now
Drumming on tin roofs,
Blowing umbrellas inside out
Coercing buffaloes to swim
Damn! It's raining
Frogs, toads, crabs and snakes
Checking on inmates then and now
Round the clock, the sky is grey
Ceiling drips on glacier floor
Leaking drainage, filth, algae
Mosquitoes breeding, buzzing always
Ropes run over my head,
Clipped clothes still wet
Beds smell like socks
Power often goes off
Monsoon choking the district
Many homeless and sick
Storm is rough; it's disciplining
Or cleansing the land of our sins
So yes, since it's raining
I needn't go to college
Binge watch series all day
Get to read some poem or play
Share this post, then go pray.
