surreal poetry
Surrealist poetry embodies the essence of poetry itself, drawing upon shocking imagery and lyrical incongruities to comment on the inner-workings of the mind.
Etched in Time
Moments in time, fleeting and fast Some are insignificant, others meant to last Memories etched in our minds Some bring joy, others bind Some moments change our fate Others just a small detail on our plate But all hold weight and meaning In the tapestry of our being The birth of a child, a first kiss Graduation day, a job well-missed The day we fell in love, the day we fell apart All hold a special place in our hearts So hold on tight to the important ones And let go of the rest For every moment shapes us And makes us who we are, at our best.

Journey's End
Alone I tread, where none have gone A path unknown, a journey long No friends to share, no hand to hold Just me, my thoughts, my story untold The wind may howl, the rain may pour But I will trudge, I will endure For I know not what lies ahead But I'll face it, with a heart full of dread I'll take a step, then another still And maybe, just maybe, I'll find my thrill But if I should falter, if I should fall I'll rise again, I'll stand tall For I am the master of my fate I'll make my mark, it's not too late And when my journey here is done I'll look back and say, "I have won."
