Binary Brains & Quantum Blues
Some stories donāt come from quiet reflection ā they come from lived truth, sideāeye wisdom, and the kind of grownāwoman clarity you earn after years of watching people panic over things they donāt understand. Yesterday was one of those days: fear was loud, misinformation was everywhere, and folks were shouting about things they couldnāt explain. Instead of arguing, I wrote a blues story ā one that laughs at the panic, calls out the contradictions, and celebrates the kind of wisdom that refuses to be boxed in. Binary Brains & Quantum Blues is my blues piece about fear, tech, humor, and the way I walk through the world now, with less patience for nonsense and a whole lot more room for truth. Ā Binary Brains & Quantum Blues The Less-Bullshit Blues Ā Ā [Verse 1] Woke up this mornin', heard a woman scream Said "AIās cominā to steal my dreams" She never wrote a line of code in her life But sheās preachinā doom like a back-porch wife I just sip my coffee, shake my head slow Fear makes fools outta folks who donāt know Ā [Spoken Word] I woke up in a binary world Zeros and ones tryinā to tell me who I am But my mind donāt walk in straight lines Baby, Iām quantum I jump, I shimmer, I expand Ā [Chorus] I got them quantum blues Where fear donāt tell me what to choose Binary minds stuck in one or two But baby Iām both, Iām the whole damn truth They run from shadows they made themselves I walk through worlds they aināt never felt Ā [Verse 2] I heard a woman cryinā loud Said "AIās gonna take my soul" But she still uses GPS to find Her way to the corner store Fear makes folks see monsters Where there aināt nothinā but code Ā [Verse 3] One lady cried, āAI wasnāt ready!ā Voice all shaky, hands all unsteady Talkinā ābout tech like she built the mainframe But she canāt even reset her password game I told her gently, āHoney, breathe⦠Your fearās louder than the truth you believe.ā Ā [Chorus] I got them quantum blues Superposition in my shoes Binary tries to box me in But I refuse, I refuse Iām too grown for that old code Too wise for their old news Yeah, Iām quantum, baby And I got the less-bullshit blues Ā [Verse 4] Another said, āI want my old internet back!ā Dial-up dreams and panic attacks I said, āGirl, hop in your time machine 1999ās where youāll find that scene.ā Fearās a ghost that haunts the weak But blues folks laugh when the ghost tries to speak Ā [Bridge] Now theyāre sayinā AIās the devil Tryinā to split folks left and right Fearās the oldest trick in the book Keepinā people too scared to unite Divide and conquer aināt new, baby Itās just dressed up in digital fright Ā [Chorus] I got them quantum blues Superposition in my shoes Binary folks yell āAIās the end!ā But fear aināt logic, itās just pretend Iām too grown for their boogeyman tales Too wise for their panic emails Ā [Outro] So let āem tremble at the tech they use Let āem run from the tools they refuse Iāll be here in my quantum groove Laughinā at fear with a sovereign move Yeah, Iām blues, baby And fear aināt got nothinā on me The older I get The less bullshit I tolerate

Where Be Our Cincinnatus?
Where be our Cincinnatus? That golden hero of yore Where be our Cincinnatus? To whom even Washington swore Above reproach Pridefully evoked A common admiration Wielding power with veneration With the Aqueiās threat abated Upon the Field of Mars, abdicated Laying down stewardship's yoke Knowing it be no golden cloak Where be our Cincinnatus? Someone upon whom we can depend Where be our Cincinnatus Amongst these common men?
