I Miss the Molecular, Cellular Ions of the Ocean
I Miss the Molecular, Cellular Ions of the Ocean I miss the molecular, Cellular ions of the ocean. I miss living by the water where my hair stays soft instead of dry and kinky, Where the sand slid between my toes And the ocean spray kissed my skin As I waded out to my waist‑deep adventure. I miss the sunlight, the waves, The way the sand held my body’s heat and the salt water Pulled inflammation from my bones. The ocean wasn’t a vacation. It was medicine, the kind that works on the nervous system, The kind that remembers you. The sand embodied my molecules as I walked the shoreline, Each step is a conversation between earth and skin. Now I live in a desert of possibilities, Grateful to be alive, But aware of the difference aware of How my body once breathed in rhythm with the tide. And still, the ocean lives in me. Cellular. Molecular. All the molecular ions of the ocean depth, Breathing life into cellular, molecules of me, Of Human life. I remember with every breath.

The Mundane is Magic
I was rinsing off my paintbrush when I had the sinking realization that perhaps all the tiny moments where I whispered to myself, "My, what good luck!" were actually little bits of magic because maybe real magic is mundane, it doesn't come bounding in announcing itself by its full, government name, instead magic finds a way to weave itself so seamlessly into our everyday lives that it goes unnoticed in that normalized way that way where if you were asked, sure, you're conscious of the odds and how you beat them in the most surprising ways, but don't people do that all the time? What if magic is happening every millisecond? Each time a cell splits in mitosis, every new hair growing on your head, every single spider baby pouring from one egg, maybe that's all magic. Who's to say it's not?

Thriving, Not Surviving
Say It Again Challenge - Prompt: Write a satirical poem that repeats one line at least three times. Each time it appears, its meaning should shift or deepen. Repetition can sharpen a point or quietly undo it. Here, it needs to do both. Build your poem around a line that comes back at least three times. Each return should shift how it reads, shaped by what surrounds it and what’s already been said. By the final repetition, the line shouldn't land the way it did at the start.
