performance poetry
Performance Poetry is poetry out loud; poems brought from the page to the stage.

But once you get there, that’s just the foundation. Next, gather up all of the chinks in your chain, Fasten them together, make chain mail, and ride that bitch into battle.

Is there something wrong with me ? A loose screw or two that ruined my ability to function and why am I always so tired. My life is uninspired and small all I do is sprawl on the sofa with outstretched limbs like a sloth in slow motion. People always ask "where is your devotion to succeed ? Did it drift out your window from the smoke from your weed ? Does your mother have to force feed you discipline until to you finally concede ? She cooks and she cleans and she don't stop until the soles on her feet bleed." But she's fine, she's perfect she says "Be perfect like me."

Why am I down here, why am I down here when I need to be up here, up here with the ones who have promising careers who listen when information goes in one ear and doesn't come out the other. I will NEVER be up here, I act as if the act of listening is a crime or I would have heard my mother the after the 666th time she told me to stop chewing on my nails like a piece of rubbish, I can't be rubbish I have to be perfect I have to be perfect like her.

I need to Stop wearing those awful ripped jeans and that lipstick like a whore with double D implants. I only get one chance i need to stop living like a cat with 9 lives. I need to stop committing myself to songs and stories and spoken slam in a world where degrees and PHDs mean more than the need for poetry. My mother shouts "STOP chewing on your nails no wonder you've never attracted any males, why do you do that, do you like the taste ? Are they sweet ? You can't eat sweets you're ruining your teeth like you're ruining your life. My teeth are perfect. Clean and pristine. They gleam like the golden halo above my perfect conditioned hair." I guess my mother doesn't need sugar, she is above sugar.

you aren’t incapable of loving, you’re just afraid of what it did to you “I miss you, I don’t have a best friend anymore, sure I have close friends, but no one is there like we were for each other. I hope you miss me too.”

sleeping with someone does not make you a slut. Feeling happy with your body and taking photos of it does not make you a slut.
