An Ode to Long Lost Summers
I remember the heat Of endless July Hair frizzing Freckles etched permanently Into my sun-kissed skin Laying on soft splinters of green Searching the topaz sky For familiar faces in the clouds. They smile at me Those infinitesimal cotton comforts Holding my dreams And space For a girl Still growing wings

The Word of the Day for August 15, 2026 is “LOOSE.”
Loose change? Loose as a goose? How about that moose? Living on the Range! ~ No, I don't want your penny We move up and many others move down No more pennies, big frown ~ Nickles and quarters are still good at least they are in my hood dimes are still prime in this state of mine ~ The goose is on the loose at my daughters house a bunch. Good thing it's not a moose That happened more than once living in Alaska a few years back Atleast there was no attack. ~ When getting sick after cancer juice made all the difference. Essiac was the solution. No caboose no sickness came back. ~ Now, what about loose women? Why not loose men? What about loose marbles? How about loose garbles? ~ The end of the train is the caboose And a caboose the youngest moose Enough about loose today Time to put this away and get on with my day! It is Saturday and time to play!

Why I Want to Learn to Read My Poetry Aloud (And Why You Should Too). Top Story - August 2026.
Right. Before we begin, I’m gonna have to warn you. The following video contains me, sitting in my garden, reading aloud a poem I wrote this very morning while my girlfriend (aka trusty online-pimp/videographer) filmed from behind.

Please Take It. Top Story - August 2026.
I wrote a piece about not deleting your drafts and this piece is a prime example of why you shouldn't do it. I must have written this for a challenge and never completed it. Months ago, it was started. Here it is in its finished form and I'm really pleased with it. It might not have been something I'd have written in the first place as it may not meet the original challenge's criteria but having found it again and given it a polish, it's ready to be published and read.
