When The World Goes Quiet

Open your eyes, listen with them a task in its self

When The World Goes Quiet

Sometimes I want the world to stop,
To hear the silence at the top,
To leave behind the endless noise,
And find the girl beneath the voice.

I want a place where I can breathe,
Where nobody expects from me,
A little room, a little light,
A quiet corner for the night.

I’ve spent so long pretending strong,
When sometimes everything feels wrong,
I’ve smiled when I was falling down,
And hid the tears when no one was around.

But I am learning it’s okay,
To have a tired and difficult day,
To say I’m hurting, I need time,
Without believing I’ve failed somehow.

The world can wait while I sit still,
While I climb slowly up the hill,
I don’t have to fix everything,
Or know what tomorrow’s going to bring.

And when the quiet finally comes,
I hear my heart beneath the drums,
It tells me softly, Don’t give in,
There is still life beneath your skin.

So I’ll be gentle with myself,
And stop comparing to someone else,
For healing doesn’t have a race,
It comes in its own time and place.

And when I step back into light,
I’ll know I made it through the night,
Not because I never felt afraid,
But because I stayed and faced the day.
