The Gate Is Closed

When cutting ties is the only way to protect your peace

I had to walk on glass
Startled when hearing your voice
The heat in your eyes terrified me
The burning sensation I felt
The life of hell

The fear
Of a burning sinkhole
Being trapped alive
It took me forever to realize you were a living hell

The sun was out
While the darkness was inside the house
The thunderstorm hid over my head
You hid your devilish face from the outside world
But I saw  the mirror of truth

I used to think I was cursed
I used to think I was unimportant
I might have been to you

I am closing that gate
Putting a metal padlock through
I know now
My brain is processing the evil of truth
It’s reminding me I have made the right choice
I am closing that gate
Putting a metal padlock through
I know now
My brain is processing the evil of truth
It’s reminding me I have made the right choice

The gate is officially closed
I have found my strength
And I am holding onto that strength
