lovely
and dripping
with youth
she was
worthy
of being torn
from the well-thumbed pages
of women's magazines
adorned and adored --
some body of art
.
her sweet heart
swooned
for hand plucked apples
from the garden
of the gods
.
oh, how man
fell from grace
before her ice cold feet,
her summer blouse
unbuttoned
.
she poured herself
a well mixed drink, made a splash,
and then
got stoned

Is this poem about Eve?
Just an excellent procession of lyrical perfection
Wow. This is excellent. All seems great with her world, and then that last line.
Wow, Christy! The last verse is my favourite! "she poured herself a well mixed drink, made a splash, and then got stoned" This is just brilliant! <3
This was so poignant and it hit me so hard. Loved your poem!
The ludic punning does not compromise the gravitas of the whole. Nice work!
