metal crash
dash
jump
kerplunk
slam dunk
.
"Thomas, come home right this instant!"
“Awe, Mom! In a minute?”
.
ribbit ribbit
hiccup
yawn
kick the ball
across the lawn
.
run and play
scream and shout
.
"Mrs. Smith, can Tom stay out?"
.
go
stop
go
.
“Mom says no. Sorry, guys, gotta go..."
.
round the corner
jump the fence
.
"Hurry up or you'll get drenched!"
.
Up the stairs
and through the door
slipped
kaboom!
hit the floor
.
ups-a-daisy
off to bed
thoughts of race cars
in my head
.
comb my hair and
brush my teeth
but
toothpaste
tube's
just
out of
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreach
.
slip on pajamas
climb into bed
.
"Turn off that light, Tom—"
“Do as your mother says"
.
kitty cat wraps
round my feet
good night world
I'm fast
asleeeeeeepppp

Those were the good old days! Loved your poem!
If only life were so simple! Energy and rest.
Lovely
Pure delight! Childhood - so far away now and yet deceptively near. Loved the energy of the poem - especially mom's voice!
How did you learn so much about my childhood?
