Once Upon a Mountain Top
A slowed down poem
‘Sitting atop the rugged rockiness
The air vibrating with a vivid view
Of life
The hum of the wind has replaced
The electric hum of wires and the act of rushing
The raven’s wing creates its own wave on the breath
The ocean takes when
Inhaling life, exhaling life
~
I sit atop the rough rockiness
Inhaling life, exhaling life
All around me
Is a slower world
As if time has paused to take in all the wonders
Around are so many wonders
Like the reflection of rugged roughness
In the delicacy that is the ever-clear waters
~
Movement is in the form of gracefulness
From the stride of the raven across the endless blue
Or the bobbing of tug of boats resting atop the endless reflective hue
Even the chase between the lemmings, the dogs, the fish below
Is done with an understanding of grace and gratitude
Grateful for the life taken and given
Grace with the magic at the tips of toes and fins across the multitudes
Atop the land that holds with no expectations,
There are no limitations
~

I climbed a mountain on my own in Las Vegas to get away and see if I could get Sprint coverage (a while ago). I made it to the top after 2.5 hours and I had coverage! The wind was fierce and I lost my way upon my return. It took nearly 5 hours to get back to my car, then I got stuck in soft sand and had to have a tow truck get me out. What an exhausting day! Thanks for the poem.
WOW! This was amazing!
Excellent words as always
