Calm Seas

My greatest fears

I fear most

To sink in

Calm seas

——-

Troubled waters

Whilst fierce

Provide direction

——-

The endless struggle

Gives motivation

To weary limbs

——-

But when becalmed

Without impetus

The depths call

———————-

I fear most

The empty silence

Of the mind

——

Pressure and expectation

Whilst demanding

Forge something stronger

——

But external inaction

Saps motivation

And apathy sets in

———————

I fear most

To lose my way

In too much space

——

An open horizon

An empty map

A pointless compass

——

A tight path

Whilst restricting

Shows the way

——

But without the edge

A fall is

Just a step away

————————-

I fear most

To find myself wanting

With just me to blame

Brilliant final stanza..."I.fear most to find myself wanting with just me to blame". So much can be said in just a dozen words!
