The Joy Of Clips And Canva
I am completely amazed at the evolution of photo editing. How we alter photos have gotten easier and easier and easier. Now, it has gotten so easy that my 9 (almost 10) year old son can do it. The technology we have to edit almost everything under the sun is absolutely mind-blowing. Back in the 1980’s, I had no clue what photo editing was. In the 1990’s, I knew about photo editing, but I thought it was one of the most complicated projects to complete. At the time, I assumed that only professionals as smart as Albert Einstein can only perform this task. By the time we entered the 21st Century, I became very aware that anyone can edit photos or photoshop. However, the tools I had made the process very time consuming for me. Now that smartphones are extremely popular, and there are many apps to choose from, I can now edit photos in as little as five minutes – depending on how I want my photos to look at the end.

Ask any entrepreneur and he or she will say that this profession is not for the faint of heart. A majority of entrepreneurs begin by funding their own business. And this means we are a one person show. For me, this includes everything from making my products by hand and from scratch to taking and posting the product pictures and listings. Branding is important. But you can’t really brand unless you actually know what your mission is and what you and your product stand for. For crafting entrepreneurs like myself, this often is directly or closely tied to our personal lives, journey and history.

Her Best Photo
This obsession had officially taken over. Her grace was gone, her confidence had withered and what was once a brilliantly white notebook was drenched into a hue of black. When Marlene Burkett first began this search, she never imagined that she would go this far or become this consumed within it. That night of her gallery opening became the most defining event in her 25 years of life. A life that was froth with perfection and beauty. A life that exuded the scent of privilege and utter acceptance in everything she did. Every photo she ever took, the classically beautiful and the unmistakably stunning, she couldn’t look at the same. The stylized descriptions she wrote in her notebook about these photos with her once exquisite penmanship now seemed vapid and unimportant. The descriptions, as Marlene took more risky and more vulnerable photos, were written with the hand of a lost, frustrated, and disillusioned person. It was a small and almost indistinguishable font with short blunt lines and mysterious black smudges all over the paper.

"hey mom, I took pictures the whole time", so many outtakes, haha!
