I had no purpose. Top Story - September 2023.
~AUTHOR'S NOTE: I did not write this piece with the intention of being included in any contest or category...I simply, truly felt compelled to share this message. SO, I apologize if it does not meet appropriate guidelines but I did categorize it to the best of my "feeling" at the time! Finally, there may be misspellings, punctuation errors and more (which I usually CRINGE HEAVILY at) but this was written from the heart, so none of that matters...

How to Move to a City You Don’t Want to Move to. Top Story - September 2023.
Three weeks ago, me and my soulmate moved home. Though sometimes it feels more like a wholesome Air BnB owned by somebody who has pinched all of our belongings and filled it with our existential innards, rather than “home.”

Forcing Myself To Laugh. Top Story - August 2023.
This summer was the opposite of what I thought it would be. I thought I would have fun and be the happiest girl. I planned to go watch movies, stay up late, discover new places and so many other things. My brain seemed to have other plans for me. Pretty much on the last day of work I started to feel my mind go numb as well as my feelings. By the time I got home I fell into my bed and stayed there for the rest of my vacation. I could not find the energy to leave my bed, let alone my house. Mentally I decided to give in to my numbness and ceased to speak or feel any emotions. It was peaceful yet scary for me to find myself so cold and unfeeling. I accepted my new reality and wasted my summer away.

Things I've Learned from Therapy. Top Story - August 2023.
Disclaimer: This list is not just from my own therapists but also stuff my friend's therapist has told her and she told me. It includes my own tips for some as well. Also, these are in no particular order.

From Astrophysics to OCD: The Role of Space in My Life. Top Story - July 2023.
Ace, isn’t it? Space. It’s in the name. But it’s no spa. I’ve got a degree in it. And a mental health issue that tore open wormholes within it. And people I love scattered all throughout and transcending it. But if you ask me what space is, I couldn’t tell you, because it’s not really even a thing.

Letter of gratitude to Vocal community.. Top Story - July 2023.
I don’t know how many people will read this article, since the probability of it making it to the top story is low, unlike my previous piece, which is the very reason I am writing these words. But even if a small percentage out of those who engaged with my content over the last two weeks will see this letter, it will be worth it. Perhaps one of the main reasons I had to write it, is me feeling that due to the busyness of daily life, I didn’t reciprocate nearly enough on the lovely feedback I received from you lot recently.

Eating a Frog First Thing in the Morning Really Impacts my Appetite. Top Story - June 2023.
The phone alarm goes off each morning at 6:04 AM. Why? Because I set it to do that. I chose to do that! (I need to remind myself of that every time it happens- it is because I made the choice to set it for that time. UGH.)
