Help Change The World by Voting for Mr. Health and Fitness 2024! Read to the End to see How!

---

Change has been very present in my mind as of late.

My family is in the process of moving right now.

I recently became Chief Regenerative Design Officer of The Leadership Guide and we have been driving Impact Projects around the Globe.

We launched our Change The World Fitness Apparel Line which has been showing that We "Can" Change The World!

I'm about to hit another milestone with these Articles - I will have published 500 Articles Straight on Wednesday.

Not to mention this amazing opportunity around Mr. Health and Fitness which, even having barely started, has been quite the Experience!

There are more as well, but this gives you an idea of everything going on.

Change itself is such a Powerful Force.

It can be both Thrilling and Terrifying.

In our Lives, it is also Important to understand that all Change is a Stressor, so we tend to avoid it, yet Change is also Inevitable.

With Change being a Stressor, Inevitable, and also filled with Uncertainty, it explains why we are often Afraid of it.

In the midst of this, I re-watched a Wonderful Movie that my Spouse and I love called Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.

It's a Stop-Motion Mockumentary that was Oscar-Nominated for Best Animated Feature Film.

This movie, perhaps, is one of the most touching films that hits on a huge variety of deep human emotions, and for many, it is a Tear-Jerker.

One of the characters in the movie, Nana Connie, teaches the main character, the young Marcel, a lot about Change which I believe is Potent.

Marcel has had some major challenges in his life and is worried about new Changes that may come.

Nana Connie tells Marcel, "Let's forget about being afraid... It may be good, it may be not, but just take the adventure."

At that moment, she is teaching Marcel 2 things.

  • All Change is an Adventure
  • Even if the Change may not be "Good", it is alright because Change continues to happen and something else will be "Good", so we do not need to be Afraid

It is one of those Lessons that subtly shows us "Why" we need to continue forward, even when we run into Challenges.

What is not "Good" is only Temporary, and what is "Good" is simply a little further down the road of the Adventure.

Nana Connie also tells Marcel, "Don't use me as an excuse not to live."

Often in life, we try to avoid Change and use Excuses, sometimes even well-intentioned ones, to justify our efforts to avoid Change.

But it is something we cannot allow to happen.

When we allow things to "prevent" Change, it actually doesn't work.

Change happens regardless.

What may appear or feel like "Stagnation" ends up becoming Deterioration.

That Deterioration holds us back significantly more than any efforts we make forward, even if the efforts forward do not go as we hope.

It leads Marcel to ask, "What if everything Changes again?"

Nana Connie, undeterred, simply tells him with the kindest of smiles...

"It will."

If we seek that Adventure that exists in the Change, we can face all the Changes with a Smile.

Change may feel Terrifying, and may not always be "Good", but the Adventure makes everything worth it in the end.

I will leave you with a Poem that Nana Connie reads to the audience called The Tree, written by Philip Larkin.

It is also a very timely piece of poetry because it references May which is the month we currently find ourselves.

The poem brings a beautiful message for us to think about as we ponder Change and everything that surrounds it in our minds and lives.

---

The trees are coming into leaf

Like something almost being said;

The recent buds relax and spread,

Their greenness is a kind of grief.

Is it that they are born again

And we grow old? No, they die too.

Their yearly trick of looking new

Is written down in rings of grain.

Yet still the unresting castles thresh

In fullgrown thickness every May.

Last year is dead, they seem to say,

Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.

I don't deal well with change. It is easier if the change happens gradually but if it's something spontaneous, it triggers me so much. If possible, I don't want anythings to change. But change is inevitable. Hmmm
