How Donald Trump helped me overcome my performance anxiety
For years I struggled with academical performance anxiety. I’m not talking about feeling nervous before a test or the occasional doubt one might have about their own capabilities. I’m talking about skipping class because I’m worried I’ll get a question I won’t be able to answer, sleeping over 14 hours a day just to avoid thinking and then crying for hours because I feel stuck in a position I’m not qualified for.

I TRIED 5 MORNING ROUTINES OF SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE . Top Story - April 2020.
Hey guys! Quarantine has made life drastically different for me. At first, I had a hard time adjusting to the new normal and couldn’t help but let fear take over. And while there seemed to be so many things that have been out of my control, I realized that the way we respond to this global pandemic is completely in our control. So instead of panicking, I decided to do my best to use this time as an opportunity to engage in self discovery, practice self care, and learn new ways of being. It’s so important to remember that the world is shaped by your own perception.

Woman of Strength
Act I: The white rose in the garden took me by surprise, as the wind blew east its pedals and thorns called my name. I longed-for the day I would hear it again. I began to breathe, profoundly; my chest felt tight, almost as if my heart had skipped over a thousand beats. The way I see it, society and life in general disregards mental ability. Experiences, outlooks and perspectives make us human, we are conditioned to act, play and expose ourselves not in a vulnerable way but in the ways others view us. Why? I’m no scientist or psychologist but I do know this, we push ourselves too much. We think too much, I think too much. We react too much we portray too much, is that bad? Who knows. What I do know is that I have full control. My mind, body and soul are the key to my personal life, these essential factors showcase the person I am and still becoming. I’ve traveled far, and for being 24 years old my experiences are beyond me. I never knew that at 13 years old I would sing “just dance, gonna be ok” for the next 12 years or for the rest of my life for that matter.

Arundhati Roy, Love in Action
I am deeply inspired by writer and activist Arundhati Roy. She seems to hold one of the keys to actually changing the world, the power to get to the heart of political issues and to the heart of our collective humanness at the same time. She writes about politics, environmental justice, Indigenous rights, nationalism, and social movements, while acknowledging the nuances and intricacies of our human experience, as emotional beings.

Suspend Disbelief
Suspend disbelief, always. I would be lying if I told you this was easy to write. It should be as it comes from a place rooted in Truth. But like most, real, raw and honest experiences, it makes me uncomfortable. And like most things that I know need to happen to "uplevel" a bit, I am experiencing a resistance. It’s a certain type of resistance - not the kind that invokes a visceral reaction - but the kind that gives temperature to that voice in the back of your head. A soft murmur that inevitably turns into a loud, clarifying scream, “Oh shit, this is what I need to do? Oh shit. Not this, anything but this. Yup, it’s THIS.”

When I Stopped Being Envious and Got Inspired
To tell you the truth I was envious of women who have peace within themselves. What exactly did that look like? That pitiful image was of me scrolling endlessly on Instagram staring at women who seemingly had it all until I cried. It was the typical self-sabotage that we all go through at one point. The worst part was I was so lost in thinking about what I lacked that I didn’t even do anything about it at first. I found myself in a hole so deep it seemed impossible to escape.
