Garden of EdeN
I want to start telling you the story on how I fell so deeply into my rabbit whole. I am a multifaceted, Multi dimensional, Dynamic individual. I started my journey like everyone else just a kid with a curious mind. I grew up in a household where my mind was not valued, more than anything I believe that my mind wasn’t valued in my house because my mind as a woman, a Latina woman, a Puerto Rican women, just wasn’t valued by the world yet. On a surface level it seemed as though I was valued but I didn’t really understand true value until I dove deeply into myself and soul who I really was passed what I was told to be. As I grew up I battled sexual abuse, abuse in my household from my parents, abandonment, A sense of never knowing myself, many trust issues, ME issues. And like many others I started to dive into my depression and mask it with many devices food, people, sex, anything to fill the void. And eventually I started realizing that none of these things were filling the void and the only way for me to fill the void was to treat myself as if I was the garden of Eden. In doing so I took a look At the Bible and what the Bible teaches us and who the Bible tells us to be. I took a look at the Quran, I took a look at the Emerald tablets, I took a look at sacred geometry, I took a look at meditating, I took a look at yoga, I took a look at many different things that really lead me deeper in deeper and deeper into that rabbit hole and eventually it led me to ME.

I will never be a top story or win a challenge
I am still an amateur writer navigating the vocal platform. When someone made a statement that 'winners' are announced on Tuesdays and new challenges are posted on Wednesdays it provoked a thought. "How come my brain hadn't established this connection as yet." This past Tuesday, I woke up anxiously awaiting the results thinking there would be a chance of winning (Let’s blame my close friends and family for rallying behind me in support which I must say isn’t such a bad thing). Once the winners were announced, there was an internal monologue that led to the question, "Did you really think your story deserved to 'win' a challenge or even be considered as a top story?

Imperfect Perfectionist
Being perceived as a perfection is very challenging, because then you try to live up to that expectation. It is also challenging to accept your imperfections, because you're constantly under a spotlight of high expectations. As a professional, I am constantly looking to improve myself and my quality of work, so when I mess up, my whole world crumbles. Now personally, I can be imperfect and be fine, because I am not being ridiculed or judged... or so I think. I have been held up to a high standard for as long as I can remember; I have a very strict mother, continuously expecting me to do everything right, putting me into different afterschool activities, making sure I was scheduled for extra curricular activities in school, and still go home to cook and clean. Now, my dad on the other hand, well... what is there to say, he was not in my life for the most part. Regardless of how they both were, both of my parents had one thing in common; they were both hardworking and were both workaholics. Growing up, my mom worked long days, would still getting me ready for school, came home, did laundry, made sure I was fed, and still made time to read to me or do fun things before bed. Those things, helped me to be the person I am today. I didn't have my dad in my life until I turned 18, but from what I could gather, he was devoted to his job, independent, extremely intelligent, and very wise. I am grateful to have had parents that taught me the value of determination, perseverance, and perfection.

Take Care Of Your Soul
Some of the time, the endless obligations that individuals need to achieve consistently hold them back from dealing with their internal identity – their spirit. While the spirit is imperceptible to the rest of the world, it is as yet something living that should be given specific consideration and should be minded and supported.

How To Remain Optimistic in a Pessimistic Environment
Introduction I recently came across an article that talked about the frustrations of readers having to get generic advice and sometimes irrelevant or obvious advice like “how to brush your teeth”. This article also addressed issues that I have been thinking about for a long time where writers give very questionable advice about writing like “you should write every day”…
