Change.
Worrying is a constant voice in your head telling you, you are not enough. This voice is the most harmful because it is so close to home, because when you think of yourself or read hate, you read it in your own voice. Having that voice is crippling at times because you are so used to hearing your voice and laugh on videos after a night out or a birthday party, but when you think poorly of yourself or speak down on yourself it sounds a lot different doesnt it? It sounds so harsh like a hot knife through a stick of butter. One thing you have to change first is your outlook on your life and see all the blessings and things you take for granted. Many people dont think twice about how they will pay their bills, if they will have a roof on their head, or where they will get their next meal. This is something I know all too well, and I need to change that. Not just make more money, but to be grateful for what I DO HAVE. I have a family that is more than supportive of my choices; even if they don't agree with them or see the situation the same way I do. I also am blessed with an amazing man in my life and a new family we created. The voice will never go away but it is gradually getting quieter and more positive more often. In order to achieve change you have to accept that things need to. Change is one of the hardest things to accept and commit to. It is something you'll have to work towards every damn day. It does get easier, but all days aren't rainbows and unicorns and that's the hardest part is accepting that there has to be bad days for there to be good and bright ones. Making it through those bad days are really a test in themselves especially if they are one after the other, it gets hard to see the good side and things to be appreciative for. Nothing ever changes without doubt, setbacks, small accomplishments here and there. The best thing about the setbacks is that when you try again the next day you aren't starting from scratch but rather with experience and knowledge. You just have to continue to push yourself to keep moving forward. Though many people say, there is no time frame or 'right time' to change. The choice is something you have to figure out within yourself what you think is the right time FOR YOU! There will be many people along the way who will tell you that you're not doing it during the right time especially since COVID began, everything is all jumbled up, but being in this isolation is the best time to change. The easiest part about changing during a global pandemic is the quarantine because you are home and there is no one but yourself controlling the time, way, and pace of this change. Once it is all over and you have thought out your plan of attack all that is left is to commit to it and make it a reality. Our minds have a wild thing to them, besides being a chunk of flesh controlled by electrical impulses, they are very habitual without us ever realizing it. For example, when working out you brain tells the rest of your body what to do and how to breathe and after a week or so of training something new, muscle memory takes control. You just need to make your changes into a muscle memory in a way. You just have to repeatedly practice and continue with your change and one day it will be second nature and you wont even remember how you were before you decided to change.

Surrender
When I was younger, I often felt like I was "too much" for everyone, while simultaneously feeling "not enough" for anyone. I was desperate for love and belonging, and assumed a lack of those feelings had to be attributed to my personal shortcomings. I desperately wanted to fix whatever problems were preventing me from achieving unconditional love and unquestioning belonging.

Wednesday Quote Of The Day (You're More Than Capable)
Growing up, one of the things Mum always used to say, when I told her I couldn't do something she asked of me, was "there's no such thing as can't". Truth be told, that there are many things that we simply cannot do in life, as they may be physically impossible, however there are also many things that we simply believe or assume we cannot do, yet they are actually physically possible. Every single one of the tasks that Mum ever gave me to do, in which I said I couldn't do, I ended up doing them, and successfully for that matter. When drilling down to the real reason behind why I always said "I can't do it", we would find that it was nothing more than a case of "I didn't want to do it". Nowadays, I get the "I can't" response from my own daughter. When asking her to tidy up, put away her toys, and place her dirty clothes in the washing basket, I get the good old "I can't", followed by several minutes of her grizzling and groaning, and me constantly telling her to stop being so lazy. How many times she just sits there on the couch, pretending not to hear me, as she continues playing with her toys, before I reach the "angry Daddy voice" stage, I think I have lost count. As a child, we need that discipline to help us with our behavior, our attitude, and our morals, moving into adulthood. We need that constant encouragement, motivation, and push, to highlight to ourselves that we are in fact capable of doing various tasks and actions, especially without the help of our parents, or others. The problem is, what I did as a child, what my own child is doing now, and what undoubtedly many other children worldwide are also doing, in saying they can't do certain tasks or actions, is that there are just as many adults worldwide who do exactly the same thing. When certain tasks and actions are asked of people, or whether it be ones needed to achieve their own goals and dreams in life, they tell themselves they can't do it, that they are not capable of doing it. Again though, let's drill on down further into the reasons behind this lack of belief in their capabilities, and the reason for their "can't".

How the Button Box Lost It's Magic
My chubby little hands twisted the tight lid left to right and right to left trying to pry the metal loose. Suddenly the two pieces separated sending forth a hint of peppermint and a cascade of buttons clattering onto the asbestos tiled floor in my cozy bedroom. I deftly scooped the buttons back into the bottom part of the tin and bent my face to inhale the delicious aroma. The candies, the original inhabitants of this pretty little tin long forgotten; this was now my own button collection started with the help of my seamstress mother. She had given me the tin and a few buttons when I was very small, to keep me occupied while she created beautiful garments for each of us. Watching the needle of her Singer sewing machine fly up and down as it ate yard after yard of beautiful fabric kept me mesmerized for awhile but eventually I would turn to the pretty container and its intriguing contents.

How to Curate Your Crap
Leaving our sprawling house in Ohio in 2014 was a project. Good thing I’m a project nerd. At the time we were in the 10th year of our most recent ten-year plan. Simultaneously, Hubs and I had just celebrated our 35th anniversary, also the anniversary of our we-might-need-that-someday plan.
