Expectations Lead To Disappointment
How does it make you feel when you believed that your partner would call you this evening, yet they never did? How does it make you feel when you believed you would receive a job promotion, but you didn't, and it was instead handed to another one of your work colleagues? How does it make you feel when you go to have a nice hot shower, only to find that there is no hot water at all? How does it make you feel when you go to the grocery store, and then get stuck in a long customer line at the checkout? I could go on and on with so many different scenarios, because they all involve expectations, and expectations are something all too common for us, which is not a good thing. What emotions and feelings do you get from the above sort of scenarios though, when you are involved in such situations? Disappointment? Anger? Hurt? Sadness? Rejection? Frustration? One thing is for sure, they are not exactly emotions of great joy, jubilation, and happiness! But why do we feel this way? Is it really that bad that our partner didn't call this evening? Perhaps they were busy, they were detained, or they had another engagement to attend to. Does it truly mean they don't love us, or are we just being a bit precious? Is it really that bad that we missed out on a job promotion that we believed we were a certainty to get, when there just might be something even better that comes up in the near future for us anyway? Is it really that bad to have to wait in line for a few minutes at a grocery store, because the staff are overwhelmed with an influx of customers? Sure, these things may be a little inconvenient and disappointing, but they're not the end of the world. The problem is though, because we set expectations for so many things, these feelings of disappointment, inconvenience, anger, frustration, hurt, sadness, rejection, etc begin to compound. With an ongoing barrage of negative emotions, we start to find ourselves living in constant unhappiness. Is that really living?

We are the class
Below is an open letter I wrote to my class on November 26th 2020. We started the nursing program, a goal many of us had spent years of prerequisites working up to, mid-pandemic. This in-class program had to switch to a majority online program over night. As the class of 2022 we had no idea what we were getting into or how things were “supposed” to go. In fact, we did not even know if we would be allowed to have clinical rotations with all the Covid restrictions in place. I know online school affected many more than just my class and I hope this inspires others to keep pushing through these uncharted times.

Things I wish I had done
Often times we all have had this same song played over and over in our heads, "Time lost can not be regained." Maybe it is true maybe it is not. This then leads to the question "What is time?" Does anyone understand what time really is? But really i feel and realize our idea of time is has it's programmed and regulated by our different time counters, talk of the different Seasons, Sundials, Watches, Wall-clocks, and any other time counters. No one can tell what time is, and the truth is because time is timeless, it's eternity, infinity. You can't talk about time without first having an understanding of it.

Instant Dismissal
I personally don't like hearing people talk about one of their goals and wishes in life being to live life wealthy, just so they can buy all the luxuries that money can bring, and live the high life. It becomes dangerous territory really, because when we start focusing on all the luxuries and assets that money can buy us, our mind becomes money centric, which can often take the focus away from seeking to help others in life, from serving others in life, and from designing a life blessed with happiness and success. Our purpose in life becomes completely diminished basically. When we start chasing money, our behavior instantly becomes based on greed and selfishness, and we often find that life doesn't reward such behavior. The moment our focus shifts to chasing money, we find that's all we spend our life doing, chasing money. Even if we start creating wealth for ourselves, we are never satisfied, and we are always wanting more, more, and more. We start spending money on things we want, rather than what we need, or to even help those in need. You often hear of people who have inherited a large sum of money, or perhaps who have won a large amount of money on the lottery, that within a few years, they found a way to burn through it all. Their focus became all about living it up, and buying all these non-essential luxuries for themselves, that they completely lost sight of the need for investment, financial wisdom, and generosity. My late mother was a classic example of this. She inherited over 1.5 million dollars from Dad's estate, following his passing back in 2007, yet by the time she passed away herself in mid 2019, her bank accounts were completely empty. To this day, I'm still at a loss as to where she spent all that money, as there are no assets to indicate where those funds were used. I think the issue with so many people is that they believe money and wealth will provide them with happiness, yet history will show that those who have had gained significant wealth, rarely were ever satisfied and happy. Significant wealth and fame couldn't didn't exactly prevent many well known celebrities from taking their own lives. What we should be focusing on in life is working our passion, seeking out our true purpose, generating success, designing a life blessed with happiness and satisfaction, and be helping, supporting, and encouraging others. It's selflessness and hard work that leads to success, and that success will generate the dollars for us anyway.

Folklore: a gateway to future reality
When I was little, there were few books available in the house, so I always liked to stay with them at the library, so I could read all that I would need. I loved stories, jokes, riddles, historic and philosophic books. I am a retired bookworm. Today I am between writing and seeing series or movies from various countries. Netflix helps a lot with their kind of entertainment, I was a child that didn’t make my homework and would prefer spending time watching TV or reading books. Classes were enough, I wanted more knowledge than the one that school gives. Therefore, I was a little recipient that loved to get her head full of knowledge and dreams!
