When did freedom flee?
I feel as though I've been searching my whole life for what was promised to me upon my birth. I have had it within my reach, seen it and felt it at the tips of my fingers, enough to convince myself that it was mine only to come to the crushing realization that it has been a figure of my imagination the whole time.

Requiem for a meaningless dream
Unlike the old days when letters were still delivered by pigeons, goods were transported by carriage, the businessmen's business often had delays of half a month, nowadays email enables us to send documents from one continent to another in less than 3 seconds.

The Inspiration in Admiration
Prideful, competitive and always wanting to be in charge; that’s the kind of young lady I had always grown up to be. I never looked up to anyone. I was not raised to be that way, however; it was simply just the way that I was. I believe in astrological signs and the zodiac; I am what you would call the epitome of “Leo”, so those characteristics are heavily in my nature. I had never imagined following the lead of another young lady— young black lady such as myself, that is until I had met someone who wanted some of the same things as me, yet she made it happen right before my eyes.

Keep going Babe
Hi! My names Morgan. I’m a 28 year old hairstylist and I’m here to tell you. Struggle happens. And it’s not biased. It happens to everyone. I’m just here to tell you it’s okay and it does get better. I know more need to hear that. I just wanted to showcase my story to show you with hard work and determination. Anything really is possible. Growing up. Things were kinda rough. We had stuff but not the nicest but we were fine. We had a roof, we had food, we had family. As I got older, I realized part of my family wasn’t completely about my best interest. Essentially didn’t want me doing better than them and I had to get away from that. So here I was, my boyfriend, myself, our 2 year old daughter, and our dog. We needed to get out on our own so we could have a good life and make an even better one for our daughter. We thought we were going to be homeless for a little bit but someone stepped in to help us out before we finally found our own house. I thought I could finally breathe. I could laugh at myself now for ever thinking that. Financial issues hit. Big ones. Business was slow at work so my paychecks weren’t what I was used to. Then all the end of the year bills started piling in. I was drowning. Didn’t have enough money for anything. Bank account always overdrawn. It’s really hard. Especially with a little one. Everything makes you feel guilty. So I talked to my boss. She helped me make up a plan on what I need to do. I’ve been busting my butt getting more clients at work. I picked up side jobs here and there. And yes. You might be tired. But a good nights sleep is all you need. Just do it. You can relax later. It gets easier. Especially when you see your own growth. (In this case, more money) I’m definitely not out of the woods yet but I can see the light. And I’m okay with being tired. It happens. It’s not a bad problem to have. But just a few short months ago I just wanted to quit and give up on everything thinking I’ll never get out of this. Get your head out of there girl. You don’t belong there. Truly believe you can do it and I promise you can. Nothing is bad forever. You are never not going to have problems in life. Literally never. You just have to decide which problems your okay with having. To me. Being tired isn’t that big of a deal. I can relax when I go to sleep. Not getting a lot of time to go out isn’t a big deal. I’ll get days off and extra money later if I push myself now. “Live like nobody does now, so you can live like everybody does later” best quote I ever read in a book. Grind, hustle, be your own friend if you have to. You’ll feel so much better about yourself in the long run.

Your haters are low key obsessed with you 🤫
Don’t be fooled, success doesn’t silence your haters. In fact, they get louder the more you succeed. What kills me about these types of people is they gather a smear campaign against you. Theses types of individuals usually tend to surround themselves around other people who don’t like you. Usually in order to support their claims and to bash you even more. Usually, they will use a friend, a coworker, or even a romantic interest to gather tidbits of information about you. They desperately scramble for an angle through whatever means to find out where you live, where you work, what you do for a living. They use this information to spread gossip and spread lies about you, all the while not even knowing what’s really going on in your life. And will even go as far stalking your workplace and the area you live just to watch you. Digging through your personal things for any dirt or information they can find on you, doing background checks, all types of desperate things that make them look even more crazy and delusional than they already are. They will even ask around about you, if they can’t find any information online or through means of social media. In some cases, they’d go as far as trying to sabotage your job by lying on you to ruin your professional reputation as well, hating that people see you in such a good light. All the while stalking your social media profiles, if you have one, but claiming that they hate you, or that they can’t stand you. No one exhausts that much energy if they really don’t like you. In fact, a person who genuinely doesn’t like you knows nothing about you and quite frankly doesn’t care to. But the sad part is, they will never admit that they really do like/respect you in some way or another, not even to themselves.

Bell lets talk
Bell, let’s frickin talk Mental illness is real. I’ve battled everyday with depression and anxiety. When you’re young, you go through so many different things, like getting your heart broken, friend break ups, family drama and everything in between. It can be so lovely, but also so overwhelming and things can creep up on you so quickly. When i was as young as 5 i was always told i was so shy, i would panic about a presentation in class for months before it happened, my heart always raced and i got so uncomfortable speaking to anyone, and I would constantly hide behind my parents, heck, i still do that sometimes. When i was 16 i realized that what I have is social anxiety, i started piecing everything together and told my shitty therapist at the time that i had it and she fully agreed.

Past is a golden memory
People tend to hate talking about their past a lot. Even the darker moments are something to be proud of because we have become the person we are today. People tend to think that talking about difficult times is a sign as if you are suffering just by speaking about it. Every moment is a step that you have accomplished and that is why I’m writing about it. All memories and moments in your life matter: either the nice or the worst ones are important.

I hope there will be clowns?
It's easy to understand the question when you know it's origin. In your mind you know, this is huge! The step you are taking is the single most scary, wonderful, confusing thing you have ever done in your life. When you were deciding to get up the courage to walk out this mandate on your life, you were saying to yourself...

Awakening the Soul
Self Love 2 Awaken your Soul Hello my beautiful souls! I hope that each and everyone of you are doing well this week. I thought I would write a weekly blog on self love improvement. Something I think that everyone can use now and again to remind us of all the beauty and love that we have inside us, that can unlock beautiful new beginnings, and adventures once we discover them. It can help us grow and share wonderful new insight for everyone else around us to experience as well. It’s a bit like an energy boost. It’s better than any social event you might attend. The love and joy other people will see in you is just the beginning of this journey that you will be discovering. When love and joy are present it’s like a contagious effect on others as well. They will want to know how your life is so wonderful all the time. Before your know it they will be trying to mimic what you have with you too. There’s no bigger complement when someone wants to follow in your footsteps. Self love is all about discovering your true inner self. You will find that once you start discovering it you will like the new you better than the old one. Life is but a journey that we take in this short time we have here on earth. It’s better to enjoy the process by knowing the inner self more deeply. I would like to take you on a journey with me of awakening your true inner self. First, I would like you to practice something very simple with me for this next week, and see how you feel after doing it. Start every morning for the next seven days, when you wake up, in bed by raising your arms above your head, then stretch your arms and legs. Next put your hands down by your sides. Before you sit up lay there and begin to practice deep breathing for 60 seconds through your nose only. Second take a very deep breath in through your nose and hold it for 30 seconds, then breath out deeply through your mouth. Then, rub your hands together and place them at center of chest in a prayer pose. Take a deep breath in and as you exhale create a vibration with the OM sound. Next lay there for 30 seconds and notice how much better you feel. Then as you begin to get out of bed, keep only positive thought in your mind. As you begin to get out in your busy day. begin to acknowledge people in a positive way. Greet them with a smile and positive words. Try to remain this way throughout your day. Try to practice deep breathing throughout your day even if you are sitting at your desk. driving, or walking around. You can also practice on your lunch time or if you get up to use the restroom during the day. Use any opportunity to throughout your day to breath and clear the energy from events or situations during the day. This helps balance your energy. Then before you go to bed do the same ritual as you did in the morning. Begin to notice how much better you feel. Each day will become better than the next. You will not only feel better but you will breath, sleep, and live better, the new you is just waiting for you to give it a nudge and show the world what you have to offer it. Until next week.

Bald and Beautiful
I found myself among a group of cancer patients the other day, waiting for their radiation treatment. The environment was just perfect. Deep, comfy armchairs, discreetly lit giant fish tanks, juice and salty crackers on coffee tables, all at the most perfect temperature (not too hot, not too cold).

Gratitude Is More Than an Attitude
If you are familiar with Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret or The Power, you are completely in the loop of what many in the New Age realm call “The Law of Attraction.” However, according to Harvard University's website, there have been quite a few studies that substantiate a link between being grateful and being happy, and H.A. Fraser has set up a personal gratitude experiment anyone can conduct on their own in her book Thank You, Yes Please.
