To Live as we are Dying...

Presence in every moment

What will you hold close when you watch your final sunset?

When she turned 34 .. she decided to do three random things.

(she was quirky like that.)

1. Learn to whistle loudly.. {like, fingers in her mouth type of whistle.}

2. Floss every single day from this day forward

3. Wake with the thought.. “I have three months left to live.

Make today count with this fully in your heart.”

First, she almost passed out, but she whistles loudly now. Secondly, she’s never had a cavity.. and flosses every single day. But #3 was the most profound for her. She began making choices to live fully, while also truly relishing every moment with a loved one. She based her decisions on and chose to honor those she loved. She learned how to also choose herself. She followed her intuition and heart which assisted in clear choices. It shifted her priorities and then she placed herself at the center of this devotional love. She began caring lovingly for her own soul as she would her greatest beloved. Because this was her truth.

And many moons passed..

It came the moment where she would close her eyes for her great transition. For she was taking her last breaths of this lifetime.

This is when her most precious moments began to flood her heart like a great rush of crystalline sea:

That moment he held her hand softly as they walked down the beach.. footprints glowing magically green behind them. The warmth of kind words and the hug from her mother when she had fallen from the tree. The gift of a devotional embrace.. she felt adored beyond measure. A mirror of her divinity.

She could feel her head on his chest, heartbeats in the rhythm of lifetimes. The rolling expanse of the ocean shimmering under the full moon, while she glides over the sea, watching dolphins glowing beneath the surface. She felt the whale staring into her eyes, exchanging wisdom in their watery gaze. The children’s squeals of laughter as she ran through the muddy streets blowing bubbles.

In these moments. When she was to take her last breaths,, it would not be memories of a carving or a blanket.. it wasn’t a bouquet of flowers that visited her, in these precious moments. There was no car and no house.. there is no pretty dress or beautiful boots.

It was:

Her father popping food into her mouth, “taste this”.

Her sisters ‘simples’ as she cries with laughter,

as her children stare at her like she is crazy.

The dance party in the kitchen with her niece and nephews.

A golden web of blessed memories then began to weave around her body

… and lifted her soul to the heavens.

Then she woke. A breath catching her by surprise.

And she wondered…

What if you walked in this knowing and gratitude now,

with the deepest awareness of your truths?

What moments will rush through your veins as you take those final breaths?

What if you took a moment to FEEL those moments now?

What if we all took a moment each day to consciously choose to walk in this gratitude and knowing of what is truly important to us?

What If we just started now with a Thank You??

And so it begins..

Thank you for those who have held my heart so carefully.

Thank you to those who love me unconditionally.

Thank you to those who laughed so hard with me they pee’d themselves.

Thank you to those who held me when I thought I could not survive the broken heart.

Thank you to those who know the greatest gift they ever give.. Is their Presence.

I walk in gratitude today in full recognition of what is the most important in my life.

To me… this is you.

Thank You.
