Bruised Not Broken
This is my fifth all girls conference. This year there was over 52 girls in attendance and our theme was I don't have dreams I have plans. Mindset is everything! Statistics show we have the highest drop out rates and even high teen pregnancy rates. What if we changed all that? What if we taught our young girls that they matter. What if we taught them they had power?

Dropouts Make Great Pictures
I believe that drop outs should not be turned a cold shoulder because there are many people who are meant to create and don't need to pay thousands of dollars for a continued education. I've made many decisions in my life and one of my most significant ones was the decision to drop out. All these decisions will bring me on to a unique path. Knowing this, I constantly remind myself that the future-version of me that is homeless was brought to that situation because of my own choices. However, my dream is to play professional soccer, so my choices will also determine if I get there.

at one point, life comes to an end. at another point, your family's lives will come to an end. your friends. your loved ones. your enemies. everyone. and in the end, maybe it won't matter so much. in the end, when you're gone, and everyone else is gone, and you've taken your shot, it won't matter anymore. in the end, earth will end too. maybe even the universe. and everything will be gone. and you might think, in the end, nothing matters anymore.

Keep Moving Forward!
I'm moving forward. The best words of advice my father ever gave me was, "You can be whatever you want and do whatever you want by setting your mind to it!" He was an example of that. There was nothing I could find that my dad couldn't do. He spoke multiple languages, sang, played music, competed in bowling, was a black-belt in Judo, was a marksman archer, and had an intelligence position in the military that he never discussed. He became the sales leader then the sales manager at a major auto dealership after mustering out.

There are different stories about black culture, My culture. I already know this and know you know this. People well known to the world have told their story, their struggle of being a colored person in society. While some also mention the favoritism that was played dividing black people from each others causing unforgettable fights that still exist to this day.

In Defense of the Übermensch
First off, the name is pronounced Nietzsche (as in “KNEE-CHA”); not “NITCH”, or “NEETCH”, or “KNEE-CHEE”. However, the pronunciation of this 19th Century German philosopher’s name doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the most referenced philosophers in pop culture. Such references range from the famous Richard Strauss composition "Also Sprach Zarathustra" (also known as the opening theme of Stanley Kubrik's 2001: A Space Odyssey or Elvis Presley's entrance cue during his "Las Vegas Jumpsuit Era"), the opening of the 1982 fantasy film Conan the Barbarian with his famous quote “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”, to the Black Sabbath 2013 song God is Dead?. For those who know nothing of the man, Frederich Nietzsche was a philosopher who wrote and lectured in the latter half of the 1800’s, donned a walrus mustache, and believed that everything in this life is meaningless. In order to give meaning to life, we must overpower everyone else and obtain our wants and desires. To do so, makes you an “übermensch” (or superman).

Unpopular opinion or not, it’s the only one I have...
You can’t make the world better. The word “better” itself is subjective. Good for one could just mean bad for another. Funny isn’t it? The derivation of perspectives. Take a nation, as beautiful as mine, the U.S., our prosperity and success. Really? It means nothing when the consequence is the oppression of the rest.
