The Story of Courage
I can't remember a time when I have looked at life through both eyes and heart but now I do. Our eyes see one thing but our hearts feel another depending on what we see and feel. I am proud to be part of U.S. Army National Guard. I remember first time I was in it took me a while to figure out why I joined and for what purpose. I got in 2012 and got out 2017 due to family. Now its 2020, I am glad I am back in. Before I joined military I was always discouraged and let things bother me easily. Some people have told me I wouldn't get anywhere in life. My mother was one of them. She had always been mentally abusive to me and wouldn't let me do what I want to do with my life. In 2012, I have had enough. I wanted to do something for me and my child. So I had made my decision and enlisted and I am glad I did. I did my time till 2017. I had to get out due to family. I had another beautiful baby girl and my man was in military. Through the years that followed, something had triggered my brain. In my heart, it came to me that I need to reenlist and do better for myself and my family. I talked to my man and he wasn't to keen about it because of his opinions. Again, I don't' care about my mom's or his opinions. What matters is what I do with my life and my decision. I reenlisted and I am glad I did because I miss my job in military. First time I was in I loved it and enjoyed every minute of it. To see other soldiers eating and putting a smile on their face made my day great. It filled my heart with happiness knowing that my brothers and sisters are fed and taken cared of. Through these tough times, I realize my job in military is more than just feeding and defending. It has to deal with that people are fed, taken cared of, helped, encouraged , and feeling love and wanted. The way I look at things and people have opened my eyes and heart big time. I know a lot of people are scared because of COVID19, but there is nothing to fear. There are a lot of brave men and women doctors, nurses, first responders, law enforcements, and military personnel out there helping and fighting against COVID19. We are never alone in this world. There are people out there that will destroy others emotionally like my mom and others. But then there is also people that will help you emotionally and encourage you to get better, stay safe, and safe distance. There is no reason for people to bring others down during these hard times. As humans, we need to be there for each other. Where I work I see some people that don't give a bear about others because they think they are better than others. I have learned over the years since first in military, that slowly but surely we will get through anything. Despite how people feel towards each other we need to stand up and help. No matter how life goes, we have the courage to make it better and be there for each other. Don't let no one control your life and hurt you emotionally. We have the power to make our life better and no one get deep into your skin. We have the courage to help each other and give hearts out.

Loving Yourself
For my birthday this year, I decided to dedicate an entire year to just loving myself. I am studying to be a doctor and I've always spent more time caring for other people than myself. It wasn't until my recent mental breakdown that I realized how important taking care of myself was. For years people have been telling me that you can't love anyone until you love yourself. But what did that mean exactly? I had no idea until I started my own journey. Now I understand, you can never truly experience happiness until you love yourself and you cannot accept another person's flaws until you accept your own.

Are You Scared Of Your Thoughts?
In the 1800’s, people believed that the air they breathed would cause extreme sickness. People. Just like you and I. The fact that the cities they were living in were having waste dumped into the water supply was an afterthought. The “toxic air” wasn’t toxic at all. They were just drinking their neighbors waste unknowingly. No big deal.

How Bad Do You Want It
That’s what I ask myself every single morning, “How bad do you want it!?” When I take out my planner and start asking myself the right questions, I am able to have more clarity in my life. More clarity of what goals I want to achieve and how to achieve them.

Quarantine life update
It's really important we relearn the art in resting and relaxing Man has 2020 been a wild ride... I started this year off the same as I am sure the rest of you did. You know the BIG New Year Resolutions and a plan of how you will RULE the year, take that trip of a lifetime, or cross things off your bucket list... However the switch was flipped!! Like many of us, we are sitting at home wondering what the next step is or when the world will go back of normal while on the other hand we still have people fighting for everyone's safety day to day. Being considered an essential worker myself and being put on lockdown I want to give the biggest thank you to those who continued on despite the fear and risks! Aside from our medical teams I want to personally thank anyone who has worked to keep our stores clean, families fed, and even those of you who have helped create shelters for those in high need. WE ALL THANK YOU FOR YOUR DEDICATION AND GRACIOUSNESS TO CONTINUE TO SERVE OTHERS FIRST NO MATTER WHAT YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION IS.

MOVE BITCH! GET OUT THE WAY!
There was a fire burning, deep inside my gut. I could feel it ever since I was a little kid. That I was supposed to be something, do something more. I remember standing in my bedroom, my favourite rap or metal music playing at full blast out of my Memorex CD player, pretending that it was me. Thinking that I was going to be the next big thing, that I was going to be in front of millions of people, my music and my words changing peoples lives.

Effective Time Management for University Students
TIME... the only thing us 'humans' can never get back. As for the quote above, how relevant is a quote from the 18th Century to us 21st Century students? How many times have you told yourself "Yeah its only 1000 words, I'll do it tomorrow", yes well thanks Benny Franklin, thank-you for telling us we can do it today and do whatever we want tomorrow! I'm going to be telling you how you can turn 'tomorrow' into 'TODAY' whilst still being able to go to work and earn some cash, as well as swiping left and right while being the last man (or woman) standing in Fortnight (or whatever game you're into).. ALL AT THE SAME TIME! This is of course called 'Effective Time Management' if you were wondering, not 'multi-tasking on Tinder and Video Games at the same time whilst at work'.
