"Where Focus Goes, Energy Flows!"
We're only a few days in to 2021, and I'm noticing a trend among my friends and family as we wish each other a Happy New Year, and discuss our "plans" for 2021. The word plans is in quotes because, well, didn't we all have EPIC plans for 2020?!?

Good Deeds
Good Deed You every wonder what the world will look like when you become and elderly person? Think about it for a moment. The natural things we do every day to exist and navigate around the world become difficult to do. Things like seeing things clearly, walking, getting to any destination independently. Waking up and dressing yourself become exhausting. Being unable to physically to go to the store and get groceries, clean up your own home and the list could go on. My good deed is something I do everyday and it is the what makes me excited about life. That is taking care of people who find themselves unable to do the necessary things to survive. I work elderly patients daily. I often say to myself and it has been said to me if you want to know how a person feels put yourself in their position. I do that daily when I think of how we age.

Free Cake for 2021
Dear Me, Dear You, I have arrived at the beginning of the end of something negative. That’s an odd way of expressing positivity, but if there's one thing that the previous 12 months has taught me, it is that the old, normal way of doing everything is no longer a viable basis for future plans. Having said that, who doesn't take the year just gone as a template for the year to come? It isn’t as if it could be any worse, after all.

How to Find Purpose in 2021
Throughout my life, I've often felt idle. As though I was working towards nothing, spending my days waiting for my weekends. I guess part of me expected to stumble upon purpose and contentment. I thought happiness stemmed from success and that I would feel purposeful once I found a career. I've learned that no matter what you accomplish, it never feels how you think it will. The real pleasure and sense of accomplishment comes from the journey.

Dear New Year: We are Free At Last
To the year that began it all: I would like to start off personally by saying we would be nothing without the magnificently-glimmering , maleficent chaos that was 2020 . There was a certain beauty to her madness that was far overlooked by most caught in their own melancholia . We came into the year excited for a fresh start . A new year long playground to build and create whatever worlds we wanted . We charged in , brazenly and boldly so , ready to take on whatever 2020 threw our way . I won't say that that was a lie , but truth be told , we really didn't know what the hell we were getting ourselves into this year . Emphasis on hell . We came in raising our emotional glasses high , believing that nothing could tear us down . Enter in 2020 , still fresh off the assembly line , ready to drop the pendulum back down and cause a cultural reset to shock the washed masses . I was so caught up in my carefree nature that I raised my glass a little too high , and in came the wrecking ball to smash it to the floor again .

Dear, 2021
Dear Marielle, 2020 was a difficult year. Now it is a new year. Did you feel that sigh of relief that you took the moment the ball dropped on New Year’s Eve illuminating 2021? It’s your time to take a breath of relief. Let it go. Let it all go. Last year you said that 2020 was going to be your year. But how were you to know that a pandemic would cause chaos in the world? Nobody did.

Reset
The past can be haunting especially if it runs your everyday life. This year I want to focus on my present and my future because it will really help me have a positive outlook on life. I need to stop dwelling on my past because I cannot change what happened. I need to focus on myself both physically and mentally. While I focus on myself also help those around me who have stuck with me through it all. To start is the hardest part but it will be worth it to prove to myself that I can do it.
