So You Didn't Win A Vocal Challenge?. Top Story - January 2021.
POV. A new Vocal Challenge pops up and you immediately begin thinking about the creative angles you can take to tackle the prompt. You spend a crap ton of time brainstorming ideas, drafting and outlining your story and then you pour yourself into writing. You scour the web for beautiful media, photos and memes and happily add them to your story. Finally, all that's left to do is dot your I's and cross your T's and hit that 'Submit for Review' button. Done. Perfect! You promote the crap out of your story, posting it on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, you name it! Then, announcement day rings around and...you don't win. You didn't even place.

10 Quotes To Create Awareness Of Your Support Network
I mentioned in my message yesterday about how every one of us go through times of extreme challenge, adversity, hardship, pain, and sorrow, and how we yearn for others to be there for us, to provide us with that much needed help, support, encouragement, care, and love, to guide us through such difficulty. In all honesty, we expect our partner, our parents, our friends, and our family, all to be those such people, during our darkest days. Today's message is about preparing you for harsh reality, but to also provide you with strength and courage to overcome adversity. The truth is, not all people you expect to be there for you during your worst times, are going to be there for you at all. It's a sad fact that when someone faces difficulty, hardship, and pain, most people will actually abandon that person altogether. People opt not to get involved as they either have their own issues to sort out, or they don't want to have that burden of carrying someone else's issues in their mind. Those with a genuine kind, caring, and compassionate, heart will be there for you, and even go to great lengths to help and support you as much as they can, but it's unfortunate that these people are few and far between. In fact, during your darkest times, you will quickly discover the true character and nature of each person closely associated with you in life.

3 Ways to Seriously Improve Your Gratitude Practice
If gratitude and I had a relationship status, it would simply be "It's Complicated." Here's why. When's the last time you were feeling lost, or down, and someone told you to look at the bright side? Maybe they said "Hey, could be worse, right?" How did that make you feel? Stop and think about it for a minute.

3 simple ways to stay sane and happy as the world spins out of control
It's a well known fact that the world is in a bit of a mess right now. We started the year afresh with a herd of loonies breaking into the US' capitol building, rumours of Kanye having an affair with Jeffree Star, TikTokkers deciding to go to the Bahamas during a world wide pandemic...

Wisdom For The Faint Hearted
In the small village of Molinah, a group of women gathered around listening to the gossip of a young woman in her mid 30s. She told of a situation from a few months prior wherein her best friend and her fiance had betrayed her. An old man, in the distance, overheard this conversation, and couldn't help but recalling he had heard this story once before (weeks earlier) by the same young woman.

Happiness Is My New Year's Resolution
We all hear about them; we all do them: New Year's resolutions. Lose twenty pounds, join a gym, start that new business, finish what I started. And yet, so often, they become empty words thrown into the void, words that we said because we had to. What are New Year's resolutions anyway? Why do we make them? What's the point?

Secret to Success
John, a man in his early 40s, had struggled most of his life, having no college education, and working odd jobs just to keep his head above water throughout his adult life. He had many friends, though, all of which seemed to be very successful - owning houses and multiple expensive vehicles.

10 Quotes To Remind Us Of Our Obligation To Help Others
Have you ever been through an extremely tough time in your life, one that you perhaps suffered severe financial hardship, or you were maybe overwhelmed with sorrow, or you were maybe struggling with a relationship/marriage breakdown, or you perhaps lost your job, or whatever the situation was, but you really just needed help and support desperately? If you answered no to that question, I think you would have to be kidding yourself. At some, in fact many times in our life, we are confronted with situations and circumstances that totally crush and devastate us, and we would so desperately love someone to reach out a helping hand, show us they care, and be there to support us and help guide us through such tough times. Sadly, many of us haven't had that blessing of receiving help and support when we needed it most, and we had to navigate through it on our own. People may have abandoned us, and left us to our own devices, and although it ultimately made us stronger, that knowledge of how people turned their backs on helping us, still undoubtedly stings us greatly. It perhaps gave us some true perspective, and helped us realize the importance of helping others, prompting us to promise ourselves never to treat people in the same manner, in their time of need. As much as we choose to deny it, we all need help and support at various stages in life, even just to encourage us and provide us with some mental and emotional motivation, just enough to give us an injection of positivity and hope for the future.

This Year Give the Gift of Presence
In the new year, we set goals, get motivated, and share enthusiasm about the new beginning granted to us as the calendar turns the page to 2021. Whether we do business in person or by virtual means, just being present in a conversation is a gift. This gift can change us and the world around us.

My Year of Self Love
I have always loved New Years, even more than Christmas. For me, New Year's Day has always felt like a magical fresh start with a clean slate, a chance to make plans and sort my life out once and for all. It also helps that we have a family tradition of going to the beach every year, which is my happy place. For years I have approached the impending New Year with hope, optimism and insanely lofty goals only to drag myself across the years finish line frustrated and disappointed with myself and ready to do it all over again. Desperate for change, something, anything, please.
