Why Being Unconventional in Your Mid-20s (Is Okay) and Crucial to the Start of the Rest of Your Life
Every millennial has heard it at least once. "We're lazy." "We have no work ethic." "It's time to pick a career and settle down and have a billion babies"... Okay, maybe not a billion but you understand what I mean. What if none of that is true, though?

Community Change
You can make a change. Yes, you, every single one of you, can make a change in not just your life, but your community. Don’t believe me? You will believe me after I explain how you can, I promise it’s easy. Just be you. Making a change in our community starts with the most important people around us. We are all the same, we want to have good change in our lives. I believe that this topic should be valued because it’s not valued by our society and it truly should be because everyone should be treated not only with respect but also kindness and to feel cared about. Today, I will explain to you why being a change in your own community is a huge step in not only being a change in society, but around the world. Our society lacks so much, our world is broken because people are not valuing what they were taught to value.

Queen of Wonders
The grass. As green as the leaves around it, the world a dreamy fantasy. Footsteps in the mud splatter onto each delicate stem of colour. Leaves fall weightlessly to the ground as though a death in a dramatic Shakespearian tragedy. The world around you is like a mass of unorganised colour- splattered left, right and centre. It has gone from being a dull, grey, black and white world of rushing and stress to an avalanche of colour- greens, browns, blues and even pinks swarm around you. From the forest floor to the bluest skies your eyes are opened to the world of beauty you have been missing. Twigs snap on the floor. The streams, bright, clear and each trickling bead of water free and flowing more enthusiastically than the last.

It’s Time to Fly!
This year has been anything but easy. It felt like all of my resources, all my resilience was gone. Battery drained and unable to charge. And I am aware that it has been a challenging year for many. But the challenges are often exactly what we need in order to grow, overcoming obstacles is what shapes us into a person we are meant to become. Without the pain of the transformation - there wouldn’t be a butterfly and a caterpillar would never experience the joy of flying. His model of the world would remain the same - a safe but a very limited existence. By never challenging ourselves, our beliefs and behaviours - we remain stuck on the same level, which might feel comfortable but is not very fulfilling. As a popular quote states: “A comfort zone is a beautiful place but nothing ever grows there.” We often play it small, not living our full potential for various reasons. Many of us are not following our true passions by sticking to the familiar and safe living, not taking any risks and not even exploring who we really are. Not who we are according to our society, our parents, or our own inner monologue, which is very repetitive most of the time. We all have unique talents and gifts we might not even be aware of. Or we are aware of them but keep postponing pursuing our dreams. We are too busy making a living to explore any of that. We are basically living on an autopilot, caught up in a rat race like so many others around us. Hence it is no surprise that sooner or later something outside of us will challenge us. Push us to the next level. Why? Because we are meant to fly. We are meant to step into our greatness. This is why we are on this journey called life, with all its ups and downs. This is why we keep going no matter what - on a deeper level we know it will be worth it in the end.

Conflicted Xmas
I'm sitting here at the end of the day, Christmas day, and just thinking about it and how I really haven't cared for the holiday this year. Most years, I love Christmas, the build-up to the holiday and just everything else that surrounds this time of year. But this year I find myself not really caring much for it and now that the day is coming to a close I find myself wondering why I feel so lonely this year.
