Open up the internet, search for healthy foods, and you might get a ceaseless list of food items that can make your body fly with joy. Because I always stay curious about health, I keep on searching for different things. Argan is one of those ingredients that I always heard about, but I never really knew what it was or why people were so obsessed with it. So, I did some research and discovered things that I feel everyone should know about Argan. What is this natural beauty and why is the world going gaga about it? Let’s dive deep into it and learn things that one must know before consuming it.

A brief about Argan

Argan is a tree that grows exclusively in Morocco, and the oil that comes from its kernels has become a popular ingredient in the health and beauty world. The very kernels look similar to kinder joy eggs, just that size stays similar to that of coffee beans. By the name of it, if you ever feel like eating these delicious-looking kernels, know that they require roasting and grinding before consumption.

The taste of argan kernels is described as nutty and rich, similar to almonds or hazelnuts. Inside the kernels, there are one or two small, white seeds that are rich in oil. This oil is what makes argan kernels so valuable, sought after, and used in a variety of beauty and skincare products for their moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties.

When it comes to the forms of argan oil, there are two:

• Culinary – Used in cooking and has a nutty flavor.

• Cosmetic – used in skincare and haircare products

Now, let’s look at the many benefits of argan oil.

Benefits of argan oil

Argan oil is packed with vitamins and antioxidants that have many benefits. Here is how this oil helps us:

• It helps hydrate and nourish the skin;

• Reduces inflammation;

• Fight against signs of aging;

• It's also great for hair, as it can help tame frizz, add shine, and promote hair growth.

However, as is with any other thing in the world, argan oil also comes with certain risks.

Risks involved with argan oil

It is our tendency to think of something healthy as always healthy. Just as we hear about something that could make us fly, we pounce over it and devour it. So, the first thing is to not consume too much argan oil. Apart from it, some people may be allergic to it; so it's always best to patch test before using it all over your skin or hair.

Some argan oils on the market may be diluted or even fake. These oils look no different and taste no different; however, long-term exposure leads to health issues. So it's important to do your research and buy from reputable sources such as eBay alternatives where you may find it at a low price.

If you do decide to give argan oil a try, here are some tips: For haircare, apply a small amount of argan oil to damp hair before blow drying for added shine and frizz control. Or if you are using it for your beloved skin, apply a few drops of argan oil to clean the skin before moisturizing for an added hydration boost.

Many argan-based health and beauty products in the market are sold using the good image of argan oil. However, before you buy, make sure that other ingredients in those products are safe for human use and are FDA approved.

While argan oil may have been a mystery before, I'm now a believer in its many benefits. Just remember to be cautious and do your research before incorporating it into your routine.
