Tarot Reading for February 6th, 2023

Mondays are always an interesting day for me. I hope they are for you as well. Sometimes I don’t look forward to going to work. Some Mondays it’s tough to get out of bed. Other Mondays are fine though. Normally, by the time I reach the office, I’m ready to go for the week. Ready to take on whatever challenges the job throws at me. By the time I get to work, I somehow manage to find an optimistic attitude. But deep down, I really would love another day to rest.

And the cards today show this a little. I meditated for a while this morning. I thanked the cards for their guidance and the guidance they will give us in the future. I asked the universe to show us some guidance for today. What is something we should know for today?

Our first card in today’s reading is the Page of Swords and in today’s reading, this card represents our situation or our question. This card represents today. In this card, the Page is standing on a mound. They are holding a sword in two hands, although the way it’s being held is fairly lackadaisical. The grip isn’t very strong and I get the sense that if they tried to swing it might fly out of their hand and hurt someone or themselves. This card feels young and naive. But in a way that suggests arrogance. Maybe it’s the arrogance of youth. Overconfidence. This card represents a person who says, “I know” and then does everything to show you that they don’t.

So in this card, I see an attitude of go-getting but it’s from a place of overconfidence. This card tells me that today is going to be like being around a teenager who knows all there is to know and can’t be taught. They don’t listen because they know everything. So what can we do about this? Our next card has some answers for us.

The 10 of pentacles is our action card. This card features 10 pentacles arranged around the images. They’re just hanging in mid-air. I don’t think they’re a part of the scene on the card. Behind the pentacles, we see a scene in a market or town square. Because of the pentacles, it leads me to believe this is a business area of some kind. An old man with long white flowing hair. He has a great ornate robe and he appears to be seated while two white dogs enjoy his company. Are they his dogs? Or did they wander up to him? There are two people in conversation in the background. I feel like they are good friends who’ve run into each other in the town square or at the mall. They’re chatting away. One of them has a child who’s peeking around to see the dogs. He’s touching one of them so maybe they’re with him and his mom.

10’s are about completion and endings and as we know endings pave the way for a new beginning. Pentacles are all about work and finances. So this card is a card about legacy. About what we leave behind that paves the way for a new future. Ultimately it’s a happy card Everyone in the card is happy, there are puppies! Who doesn’t love puppies! This card asks us to think about our actions and how they create our future. Do we want to have a legacy of arrogance and overconfidence? coupled with the previous card, I think this is telling us to be mindful of today and our actions. What we do today will set us up for the week. And we want to make sure that we have a smooth week. I feel there is a warning in these two cards.

Our last card is our takeaway card. This one gives us something to think about as we go about the week. The High Priestess is the keeper of information. She holds a scroll with the word “Tora” on it. She sits between two pillars one black with a “B” on it and a white pillar with a “J.” There is a great expanse of water behind her but we’re unable to see that because of a curtain blocking the view. This suggests that she is the keeper of knowledge. She has a moon on her crown and a crescent moon at her feet. She wears a flowing blue robe that almost looks like water. Which is a symbol of our emotions and our mental activity.

The high priestess tells us that we are fully aware of how our actions affect the world around us. We know this inside and out. She is here to tell us what we already know. That we are capable of causing our future. We know how to shift our thinking to achieve a better result. She also tells us to trust ourselves as well. To trust your intuition in regards to today. Trust your instincts. If you do, things will most likely be ok.
